Being the guy that is credited with doubling our size over ten plus years should be the new goal.

Just one trophy limits the dream. The owners should be showing him the route-map to even more.

I wonder what Unai's wife is like, how much attention she gets from the Don must be miniscule to the attention he lavishes on the Villa players. Does she need to be more demanding of him in her own way at home?

I think he's divorced. I am unsurprised if this is the case.

Memorable for abundant domestic success, Unai cutting Neymar's birthday cake, and that Remontada.

They didn't win the league in his first season there. Monaco with a young Mbappe did.

It's not such a big deal this side of the water. Surprised you haven't noticed?! I'm not even sure whether he is or he isn't, I think I remember reading it somewhere when he first arrived.

Yes, it was mentioned in an article about his son, the keeper. Not sure if he is still here now.

It's why I can't see him at ManU or ManC. Seems to me he loves getting the best out of players and sticking it up 'the big clubs'. Being at a club where the biggest decision is which 60m player to pick strikes me as something that would bring him no joy or sense of achievement. If we finished 3rd this season it will be a far greater managerial achievement than Guardiola if he wins the league by 8 points.

"We're going to buy this shiny toy now and it's on you to make it work" is not something I think he's at all up for.

He must have up for it when he agreed to join PSG.

Do you think Guillem has released that statement with Unai's blessing?!

Unai Emery should be top of any list of any top club in the world that is looking for a manager But if you think he would leave Aston Villa now, it means you haven't properly understood what he is feeling about the work he is doing

I kind of thought this anyway, but it's good to hear others saying it.

Basically... Thank fuck for that!

Maybe, but I reckon he's decided since it's not for him.

Maybe, but I reckon he's decided since it's not for him.

Take Man U, it would be two years before he wrestles control from Jason Wilcox.  Another year to convince them to appoint one of his mates in the same/similar role. In the same time period he has to cut the current coaching staff to bring in his preferred coaches.  After that Man U need to buy him the club his relatives played at, from Villa.

That’s a lot of energy expended not coaching and doing the stuff he likes.  In the same time period we could be a 10-20% bigger club.
