I think the United ownership are deluded enough to think they can attract absolutely anyone they want and they will come running.
Not a chance these days.

Yanited fans would like Emery as their manager, I would like Sumi Somaskanda as my wife. Neither will happen.

You could try offering her complete control of all playing affairs.

Unfortunately, he can only offer her a tiny budget

Sadly, I don't have Nas and Wes's wealth at my disposal.

They aren't the draw they once were.

However post Mourinho not a job that damages future prospects if it goes awry.

No, but you can offer the bright lights of Tulsk and Ballinameen with a weekly trip to Rockfords, which incidentally is rumoured around here to have been sold.

As people have observed I always worry about these things.  However until it goes away that’s a natural Villa fan default position that some of us find hard to shake.  It’s the unquenching belief that as we seem to on the cusp of something great sky sports and others come along to deliberately sabotage it because it simply won’t do.

I remember many of us relaxing in the summer when the Martinez thing went quiet only to learn on the last day of the window they were back in for him again and if reports are to be believed he spent the whole day waiting for Shakira (Ruben) to call.

When it comes to those absolute thunder cnuts I never dismiss anything until it’s dismissed.

Unai Emery can do what he wants, of course. But it must be at least a little bit unsettling and I do sometimes wonder why someone in his position doesn't make a quick comment about it when speculation becomes ridiculous.

I don't think he needs to comment on anything at the moment (if ever). He's about 9th favourite for a job he probably wouldn't have any significant interest in.

Yep, watch as Emery gets ambushed at his next pre match presser as some blokey sky sports thicko challenges him about the Manure job.

He ain’t going there any time soon.
