The results are rubbish, but you can draw or lose games and be unfortunate. But this isn’t that - we are not winning, or even scoring, because of how we’re set up. That’s what is truly worrying, it’s baffling Unai thinks this is the right approach.

Indeed. We're not even trying to win games.

He has shown in the past that we can do incisive forward play. The first half of the season we finished fourth is case in point, McGinn's goal vs Arsenal the high water mark. For some reason the triangles, the movement, the pace has disappeared.

Unai Emery: "Of course, last year we needed time to get our structure. This year we started with circumstances not like we want but we have to accept it. Today we competed bad. It was not enough and we conceded some minutes on the field that we have to try and avoid."

the term structure seems restricting sometimes.

Feels the Ramsey transfer might of caused a but of an internal wobble.

Again, he’s using circumstances etc etc. Didn’t do that when he came in🤔

The lack of pace means we don’t stretch teams to create space to pass and move. Opposition teams can be much more compact against us.

Emery: "The first 20 minutes, we weren't really performing and playing with the intensity we needed and conceding one goal is more difficult. After it, we reacted, and we were dominating. We were creating some chances, corners offensively."

"We have to move on and continue working, trying to change some circumstances that we have, or try to clarify this week with some circumstances we have, and then build the team and try to get ourselves strong again like we did the last the last three years."

We drew games followed by a loss every season prior to this.

No need to panic.

Not a good start but we'll be fine.

Chill  8)

Unless he keeps playing known leper and orphanage-arsonist Ollie Watkins, in which case it's time for RELENTLESS FUMING.

Well yes he should drop Watkins. Malen and Guessand deserve a chance more than him. We'd have won today had they started.

Unai Emery: "We have to improve things. We have to clarify some circumstances we have in the transfer window. We have enough players, but we need to clarify some circumstances with some players staying or not or and the possibility we can have to add someone to help us."

Asked Emery about playing McGinn as a traditional winger: "We have some circumstances now we are trying to work on it. But we need to finish the transfer window next week. And John McGinn played two years ago, performing right winger in matches."

Emery: "His characteristic as a player is not getting individual action man-to-man, but he can open spaces for our right back or he can get passes forward with teammates.

"There's still work to do, and still things we have to try to clarify this week.

So could interpret as we’re bot as good as we were, we need to get a few good players in, or if we don’t we’re stuck with what we have and I’ll have to get on with it till I do one at the end of the season.

Even with the limitations of the squad Unai is not going about it right. Playing with no width is absolutely killing us.

The club haven’t done enough this summer, and Unai isn’t doing enough either.

Agree, the club need to get two in minimum, Unai needs to start Guessand or Malen instead of Onana or McGinn against Kryptonite Palace

Are you one of the X-Men? The power to see alternate timelines after the event is a shit power. I'll take invisibility so I can sneak in and not have to pay to watch whatever that was.
