Some of it is the fault of the players, so is Unai and the coaches, some is the recruitment.

He has limited options though - he should have been supported by monchi and vidagamy. I meani dont who thought it was a wise idea to spend 50m on onana but we got absolutely  ripped off there. 40m at most. So you may have a point  on the recruitment  side of things.

He'll fuck off if this keeps going. And I  wouldn't blame him one bit.

I just wish we would be more dynamic at times.

Off the pitch became a shambles 18 months ago and has been gradually creeping into the football operation too.

Playing the same players every match is a management issue. We have had some players like Maatsen who haven't , for whatever reason been involved anywhere near enough. He must also be approving some of the purchases and sales so some of the blame sits with him.

Emery: "We have to replace Diego Carlos, Buendia and Duran. It is not easy because we don't want to replace with players that will not help us like I want. We have to be intelligent.

"I am very proud of the players. The players who today played. I'm very proud of them."

Emery: "It's (this season) been more difficult. We have to be intelligent as well because we don't have the power some teams have. It's clear. We are not Arsenal, we are not Liverpool, we are not City.

"To be competing with them - wow, it's a big effort we have to do.

Maatsen hasn't been involved more as he's been generally poor when he's started. Decent enough cameo again today but we need way more from him.

Bailey, Maatsen, Onana - did any of them honestly deserve to start today? The only selection error I thought was Garcia, was unfair to start him today in that back 4 after a few training sessions. Kosta should have started.

Increasing the stadium was meant to be a means of bridging the gap. That being something we are allowed to spend money on. None of it looks particularly joined up

I don't think Uni has had the chance to play his preferred team this season more than a couple of times. Injuries and this constant turn of players for PSR doesn't help. A lot of his plans seems to have been de railed from missing out on the RB who went to Leipzig and not selling Carlos.

The only thing Unai is guilty of is bringing success back to Villa within 3 years instead of 5 years.
