Something isn't quite right. Not sure what it is. We look so different from 12 months ago. The whole mood is different.

Its devastating to see how bad we become in such a short space of time. A majority of 2024 has bewn shit for us.

It all started going wrong when we lost that game vs newcastle at home. Once the home record went we just rarely looked as good

I called it at the time but Heck bleating about our home form before the Sheffield United game (which we drew) was just never going to sit with te footballing gods

Heck isn't the reason we've had a defence with gaping holes in it for months and failed to do something about it.  Emery needs calling out it.

I got to watch my side in a European semi final, watch us in the Champions League for the first time, enjoy probably the best result and atmosphere I'll ever exprience at Villa Park. I saw a rare win in the FA Cup. I saw us demolish Arsenal away with the best limbs of the season.

We're in a really annoyingly poor run. 2024 hasn't been shit at all.

If I'm at work and something is going wrong with a process that nearly a year later has not been resolved,  I'll be called out and asked why?

Shouldn't be any different for Emery.  He can surely see that this has been a recurring problem,  but has failed to do anything about it.

I'm trying to understand what you mean by being called out.

I take it to mean shown up in front of your peers

We started this season a right back and centre half short.
It’s coming home to roost.
Who’s at fault for this?

Aston Villa have conceded more goals from fast breaks this season than any other team in the Premier League (5).

Apart from shit corners, it doesn't help that we are a slow paced team.

All of the management team.

Or being reprimanded for serving too many Chicken McNuggets in a portion.

I'd imagine the tight financial restrictions we were under in the summer played a part.  Might be wrong, but I'm guessing the purchase of the RB or CB that we clearly needed and still do, relied on us selling Diego Carlos.

Which again calls out the Maatsen signing.
We did not need a left back, we did need a RB.

Yes. I think the tight financial restrictions were the entire reason.
