'Lowest priority' doesn't necessarily mean 'hands thrown up in fuck-it attitude'.

Exactly, if the football gods offered us the certainty of winning one trophy this season it would be the last one anyone would choose.

100%. I am taking the Bristol Street Motors every time

One season one of the Premier League Clubs U21s is going to win that to much dismay in the lower leagues.

if we were offered winning this or champions league next season, I know what I would choose.

The sad state of football finance means CL qualification is always the top priority, get that 3-4 times and the impact of the extra money on the squad means you can then start going after the domestic cups.

Just saw a classic on Twitter:

"Fastest manager in our history to achieve fifty wins"

"Yes, and in the least amount of games."

Yeah brilliant followed by

Joe Mercer 1958-1964  93
John Gregory 1998-2002  101
Tony Barton 1982-1984  103
George Ramsay 1884-1926 103
Jimmy Hogan 1936-1939  104

And before anyone says anything, no I don't remember the last 2!

Good effort by Gregory that, mostly built on his incredible first 10 games I guess.

Gregory had a really good first year but as he added to the squad we just became too defensive.

Was talking about him last night, the more players he bought the worse we got.

Yes, we won most games till the end of 97-98 and were top of the league just after the new year in 98-99. Shame about the 2nd half of 98-99 !
