You'd never think he had a ring through his cock to look at him, would you?

Prince Albert I mean, not footy of course.

I don’t know. He’s exactly the sort.

Footy I mean, not Prince Albert.

Unai has made two mistakes in last two games. The selection against Mancity and doing nothing about Reguilon v Brentford till it was too late. I expected better from him under pressure knowing he's a winner. The only thing in our hands now is the UECL Trophy he needs to win that, no ifs no buts....

Agreed. The problem with the Man City decision is that you look a bit of a wally if you don't then win the next game against shit opposition. I also think that might have been partly what Watkins was referring to with his "big game mentality" rant.

I think people need to get over the Man City selection, it's gone. Brentford was fine albeit for a mad nine minutes. The team selection tonight will be interesting bearing in mind we have Sunday coming up.

Emery's not infallible by any stretch but he's the best manager we've had in my lifetime.

He's looking good, but he's behind Ron, Ron and Brian for me yet. It's hard to compare over a 30-40 year period because the game has changed so much, but winning something has got to mean something. Obviously top 4 and/or the Conference trophy would change things a lot.

It’s difficult to compare sensibly with his predecessors as we have their full body of work to look at whereas he’s been here less than 18 months.

No, not really. It’s done but not dusted and if we don’t recover it will be a terrible end to the season. Brentford game was crucial.

Agreed, which is why "best ever manager" plaudits are a bit previous seeing as he hasn't had a complete season here yet.

Depends how old OCD is. If he's young enough that it's Gregory onwards for his lifetime then Unai is the best.

Doing an Eastie, he'd old enough to remember the '94 and '96 seasons at least.

If you base it on whole careers then Unai probably is the best manager, certainly since Super Ron. Time will tell if he's the best Villa manager.

That's fair, but it's only the Villa stuff we care about, surely? Houllier was a more succesful manager over his career than just about any other manager we've had, but he was bloody awful with us.

Anyway, Unai is great, and can take another step tonight on the road to legendary status.
