If you didn't think it was possible to love this bloke even more see his instagram post of a pic of him with Gordon Cowans. The official club twitter retweeted it for those (like me) not on instagram. It's absolutely beautiful. Respectful. Proud. Inspiring. Reaffirming.
Any lazy journalist who thinks he'd up sticks to join the shitshows at ManU or Chelsea should have it printed off and be force fed it.

I think we do have to be realistic about it though.  Think there is very little chance that Chelsea or Newcastle would be of interest, but Liverpool or Manchester United?

I don't think either would offer him the opportunity to have the kind of control he has at Villa Park, but if you are looking at it as a neutral, those two would be hard to turn down if offered I suppose.

Liverpool are looking elsewhere and Emery has already taken over from a club legend manager and been burned so I doubt he would do that mistake again. As for Manure, I suppose he might be tempted to go down the league places and try to take a club back to the top of the league to show it wasn't a fluke doing it with us.

The 'project' at Manchester United will surely appeal to most managers.  Dan Ashworth looks nailed on to be involved there, so I imagine he will be over a lot of the off field stuff.

He has the club set up the way he wants at Villa.

Which is why I'm not overly concerned about him being tempted away really.

Good time to take over Man United I think (this summer). Surely Radcliffe and his toffs will allow the next coach to get rid of a lot of the deadwood. I think that's what EtH struggled with...he clearly wanted the likes of Maguire and Mctominany gone last summer and now he's back reliant on them. Phil Jones somehow had a career there without being binned off, so that problem is going on a long time. As much as Antony gets thrown at EtH as a terrible signing, rightly so, I think Casemiro was a lot worse given the fee/contract. That was definitely a club/board signing.

Emery, in contrast, worked mainly with the players he had initially, bar Moreno, and proved he could improve nearly all of them. After the Stevenage defeat, he was utterly ruthless with the deadwood. Danny Ings dumped at the first opportunity without a replacement. Archer and A Ramsey let go despite being unpopular decisions. I'm not sure you get that kind of independence at other clubs these days. He was clear that he wanted Zaha at Arsenal but they got in Pepe instead..

Nor me and the Arsenal 'setback' means the media love in and level of respect is not quite where it should be.

Let DeZerbi and co be tipped as the next great hope.

I could see Emery at one of the Spanish remaining Spanish giants he hasn'tmanaged at some stage. Other than that not sure where else could tempt him.

Would a man from the Basque region want to manage Real Madrid?

I'd say less of an issue than it used to be but I honestly don't know his political leanings on historical and cultural events.

I recall when O'Neill was considered for England job it was mainly considered no big deal - may have been different 20 years prior.

They allowed him to get rid of Ronaldo last season and Sancho this one so they are allowing some to go, however it is also hard to get rid of players if no one will offer the money for them.
