A Spanish podcast vlog thing, stick auto translate subtitles on to get the translation. Extremely complimentary of us.

Also, major LOLs at them referring to SJM as John 'albóndiga' McGinn.

EDIT: They also talk about Johan Lange at one point, and the one guy starts laughing and says "He has the most Danish face I've ever seen".

Random question- anyone know how many penalties we've conceded under unai? Was thinking I'm struggling to remember the last time we gave one away, which is another thing to show how disciplined our defending is

The camera panned to Lange during the Spurs game. Ha! Fuck you, Johan!

i do wish somebody at Villa would media train him not to scratch the left side of his face.
He can scratch his left bollock as far as I am concerned on TV if he keeps delivering results. :) :)

We had a gaffer who, on seeing us all in the fag hut when he was leaving for the day, would make his way over to shake hands with everyone. We would all furtively scratch our bollocks as he approached.

It's often said, we are the best fit for Emery and it's so true. I'm sure he's ambitious and might one day like a crack at Real Madrid or Barcelona but the reality is he wouldn't get the run of the place in the same way as he does with us. He's in a very strong position here and getting stronger.

And so are Villa, match made in heaven

Agreed. I'm normally pretty pessimistic, but this absolutely feels like right man, right club, right time.

He is one of the best half-dozen managers in the world without a doubt, but he is a man with loyalty, who has been fucked over by two 'elite' clubs who thought they were above him. He's a highly intelligent man who weighs up his next move.

He has great pedigree, but even more potential, and I think he'd love to fuck every pundit over by achieving his greatest successes with a club where it wasn't expected.

The EPL is the biggest football market on the planet. And he has a point to prove. Where's he going to go?

Nowhere in France, Germany or Italy.

Real or Barca, I honestly don't think it'd tempt him right now. Anybody can manage those dickheads. Where's the purpose?

We pay him more than anyone else, give him more control than anyone else. This is his career-defining job, and you can see how much it means to him.

I think we have the real deal, ladies & gents - a world class manager who wants to be here and win everything for Aston Villa.

We conceded 6 in the league last season. 4 of them under Emery. Newcastle away. Man City away. West Ham away. Spurs at home.

And owners who think the world of him, and give him what he needs to succeed.

Newcastle away wasn't under Emery, that was Danks or whoever the caretaker was. Man City was a disgraceful decision after a dive from Greasy, and Spurs at home was Kane looking for a leg to fall over. Don't remember the circumstances of the West Ham was, but for completeness I'll say that was a terrible decision as well.

Was a Bailey foul on Paqueta. A quick glance of the post-match thread gives stuff like

"Soft penalty for them"
"Didn't play brilliantly but it wasn't a pen"
"Undone by what was clearly not a penalty"

So yup, you're safe with terrible decision.

It was possibly the worst of the lot and gave them a point they didn't deserve.
