The most worrying thing about that article is that he analysed 27 legia Warsaw games and still put out a piss poor team and tactics

Apart from that I think he’s doing okay

Individual errors from Digne in all three of their goals and we still managed to create lots of chances and should have drawn at minimum.

Sorry cardinal sin on here questioning even lightheartedly our saviour

It's not a cardinal sin at all.  It's just people questioning you calling out the "tactics" when we dominated possession and chances, and only lost due to three pretty significant individual errors.  By all means question his team selection on the night (most of us did), but the actual tactics? I think we did more than enough in the 90 minutes to win that game - and if the two 11's played each other 10 times I think we'd win 8 of them.  We lost because of bad individual mistakes (which are thankfully rare), not because the tactics on the night were wrong.

Fair enough.  I've never understood why anyone would revel in their own ignorance, but it takes all sorts I guess.

Unai Emery is a football genius that’s my opinion of him

But I just can’t stand sycophancy at any level it’s just to a personal thing I have the same problem with authority,
even when it’s justified I always tend to kick back I just can’t help myself

I know you will come back and say you’re not sycophants but you are that’s exactly what you are, And so every now and again I Poke the bear to see what happens

Poke away. It just seems silly to complain that Unai's tactics were "bad" in a game that we dominated but ultimately lost due to three terrible individual errors.  If those individual errors hadn't happened, and we'd won 2-0, would you still think his tactics were bad?

I still think he made too many changes to the starting eleven (what a terrible sycophant I am), but that there was nothing wrong with the tactical approach on the night.

It’s only sycophancy if it is done with regard to getting something back in return.

Just poking the bear.

The other probem is that the German league is miles easier than the EPL, and so expecting players to come in and immediately replicate their form rarely works. (Haaland the obvious exception, but he's a freak playing for the most expensively assembled team in the world). Even we're now only really starting to see the player that we thought we were getting with Bailey.

I nearly put that but last time I dared to suggest the German league was easier for players like Sancho and Bailey I had a load of sulky replies about how it's one of the best leagues in the world and I couldn't be arsed with repeating that.

The thing with the German league is that the top teams are comparable to the top teams in the top leagues.  Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkeusen wouldn't look out of place in the Premier League (or La Liga, Serie A and so on).  But the drop off behind them is precipitous.  The bottom half of the Bundesliga is Championship standard.  It's easy for a good player to wrack up seriously impressive numbers in that league, because they're playing a pretty poor team every other week.  That doesn't happen here.  It's tough EVERY week.

Edit: To illustrate the point, Kane is a brilliant goalscorer, but he already has 12 goals in 9 games so far over there.  They won their last game 8-0 and he scored 3 (his halfway goal was world class, obviously).  His numbers this year will likely dwarf even his best ever season here.

To further emphasise the point about the Bundesliga - Kane now has 15 league goals in 10 games.  At this rate he will clear 50 league goals in the season (he won't get 50, as his form will almost certainly drop off for a period, or he'll miss a few games, but the point remains that pretty good players can look VERY good in Germany, and very good players can look like world-beaters.

He'll get his annual ankle injury before the end of the season.

Yes that made me smirk as well. I have seen it mentioned in few places and doesn't stand UE in good light.

John Townley on Twitter (B'ham mail - but one of the better ones)

V Sports are reportedly set to finalise a partnership between #AVFC and Spanish club Real Unión, which Unai Emery has a majority stake in.

Emery's father and grandfather both played for the team based in Irundarra, just three miles from where the Villa boss grew up
.

Will this tie Emery even closer to us?

Looks like it, doubt he's off to Yanited as soon as they bat their eyes at him.
