People haven't quite worked out that we're not a small club like Fulham having an unusually good season. Gone are the days when we have to sell our best players or worry about the manager leaving. People had better get used to the fact that we're back, and we mean business. I'm hoping that the upcoming games against Spurs, Man City and Arsenal strongly reinforce that point.

They also don't realise or are probably not knowledgeable enough to understand that he has managed at so called 'massive' clubs before, yet seems to thrive at clubs where he has an element of control over the running of things.

He seemingly has that at the Villa and is now a year along into putting things in place.  As long as the owners can convince him that they are able to match his ambition then I think it would take a lot to pull him away really.

Whether we like it or not (I absolutely despise them) Manchester United are still a huge draw and the thought of trying to restore them to the top of English football.woild appeal to many managers.  They are a bit of a mess on and off the pitch at the moment though, so may not be as attractive as they were.  Can kind of see a bit of an angle in Ferguson's kind comments towards us at the start of the season now.

The media, not just talkshite, are fundamentally lazy. They don't do their homework, they don't know the man, or our players or club. So what they're saying is natural and lazy. They see our form as a temporary thing, our players and manager as a chocolate box for the big boys to take their pick from. But, if we can make the CL places that will change, but until then it's something we will have to deal with.

Two things about Man United fans I hate.  "Essex" Reds and the sheer conceit.

Andy Goldstein manages to combine them both

He thinks he so fookin funny and cool .  How they got the afternnoon show?

I don't mind Darren Bent, but I find Goldstein unlistenable, especially when he was on air with that other tosspiece Jason Cundy. The way he talks to people on air, I can imagine that he is thoroughly unpleasant off air as well.
So thick he can't even spell his name correctly.

It's nothing to do with being lazy, nothing at all, they're a radio station (Talk Sport) who can only really exist by churning up a bit of argument, and getting people wound up.

They're really good at it, hence people on this thread getting all aereated about absolutely nothing.

If Ten Hag goes I hope Unai rules himself out early on I can’t be doing with the shitload of speculation that will be coming our way

No surprise the "local" newspaper is one trumpeting Emery to Manure.

The problem is Unai is going to be named PL manager of the month for October early next week, a fact that worries me greatly ???

I guess Emery is the one the media will link to Old Trafford, ticks just about every box for them. There aren't many other obvious ones, maybe Thomas Frank but after Potter flopped at Chelsea I just don't think any of the "Big Four" will try a similar profile again.

If they were under new ownership with some positive momentum behind them I’d be more worried. Currently the entire club is in a zombie-like state and I don’t think they’ve hit rock bottom yet either.

We need stop getting fired up over Emery links. It’s natural lazy media twats are going to mention how now he’s not just the bloke who says “good ebening” and they have to give him credit and us albeit reluctantly. Emery isn’t just going to walk out of a job where he’s been hand picked by the owner and given the keys to the kingdom to build our club in his vision. From top to bottom. Look at all of the staff that he’s brought with him and who has left because of what he’s creating. And that’s even before you get to talk about what he’s done on the pitch, and the immense connection he’s built with the fans. He’s got literally everything he needs with us and I don’t see there is anything that Man U offers as a club, or environment that is better than what we have now. At every level we are on the way up and they are on their way down.

Agree, but we want to move into a place where we're no longer seen as a club where other teams can just pick off our best players and manager.

Maybe that won't happen and it will always be the case, but as long as it is, players in particular will have their heads turned.

It might come back to bite us, but I would love to see the owners come out and say that we are no longer going to be pushed around anymore.

I just can't see him going anywhere. I imagine he's a guy who doesn't leave business unfinished.

Exactly this. He doesn't strike me as the type to leave a job before he's achieved any of his aims. If he was just going to do it for the money, he'd be better going to Saudi Arabia.
