I'd love Smith to be involved at Villa again .
Clearly could have a coaching or ambassador role.
Emery of course is boss but isn't there a way Deano can be involved on match days .
Even if he does media duties think its great to see him.

Still a nice picture though

That was emotional viewing for me .
Stirred up a lot of great and happy emotion.
Amazing when saw them chatting

Dean Smith interviewing Emery is a dream . Seeing them together wonderful!

Footy, are you going to post a message connected to Dean Smith on every thread available?

Sorry it was very exciting and to me a dream to see those two

Your getting him mixed up with his cousin John, who can pour pints but unlike Deano stays away from VP as he’s bitter.

Fast becoming a Villa legend.
Is he becoming the best we've ever had?
I know it's trophies & titles that count but what he has done in only 12 months is remarkable.

I've seen a few people make the point that what Emery is doing at Villa isn't revolutionary, he's just got everyone pulling in the same direction and extremely well drilled. Which I think is fair enough. His methods might not be revolutionary, but I think the fact they actually work is still remarkable. And you can't deny how much work the man himself puts into everything that goes on at the club.

Maybe on paper his methods are simple enough, but it still takes someone special to be able to apply them so successfully.

For me he has surpassed Gregory and O'Neil. He's breathing down the necks of Little and Atkinson now.

There’s fuck all simple about it, bloke’s a genius.

If if was that easy, everybody would be doing it. There’s also the fact that several players have stated it takes time to adapt to his methods.

I think on paper though, it is pretty simple. His methods as far as the players go seems to be giving 100% all the time and being willing to learn and improve. That's hardly rocket science, but at the same time not everyone can actually implement it with the majority of an entire squad of players.

Obviously the level of detail he goes into with it, and with analysis and tactical preparation goes above and beyond what most managers can or will do, but again, it's not rocket science what he's doing. But it certainly takes a special type of person to be able to walk into a club and get everyone on board and getting results almost immediately, and then keep everyone on board and maintain the levels.

I genuinely wouldn't swap him for any other manager currently in the game.

I was thinking the same earlier. Brilliant manager, and a gentleman with class to boot.

Is there a table anywhere for the past twelve month? We are surely a top three side since October 2022?
