You stalk certain people on here and wind them up.  You know it and take great pleasure in it. And I’ve survived since 2005 with one temporary ban under Risso’s repressive regime so I know how a forum works.  But thanks for the advice.

I reckon we'd go for a signing if it was a challenger to be in the starting 11, I don't think Emery is the type to go after a 'does a short term job as we need the numbers' player.

We had 8 players on the bench today including two keepers.  We need more depth.  Now.

We also had Ramsey, Mings, Dendoncker, Buendia, Moreno and Martinez out injured.

So three players then.

I take it you don't consider Dendocker a first choice, which is fair. Who else are you dismissive of in that list? I would have thought having all of Ramsey, Mings, Buendia, Moreno and Martinez back would be a big plus?

I’ll settle (just so everyone is clear) on another right back another striker and a replacement for Olsen. That is a great window notwithstanding the injuries.

Exactly this, as I say I think where he is willing to 'fill gaps' it's by giving players who were on their way out a chance but none of the signings he's made feel like squad players.

But two of them are not going to play this season. Donk I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone by the end of the window.

Ideally we'd get a forward in also.

The quotes by Emery on Friday don't look like he's talking about a player he plans to sell, it's mostly him challenging Donk to be at his best consistently.

No I don't, you just think I do. I just debated your post. Other people have done the same in the last few minutes , especially about Donk.
.
Anyway, I'll leave it at that because I thought we were fucking terrific.

Okay I’ll put it another way.  Does anyone think this squad with the returners from injury to come having had no pre season is sufficient to challenge for top four, conference, FA and league cup?

Ideally we'd get a forward in also.

I think Zanizolo coming in might solve that, but with Archer going, it's possible he might bring in another.

I agree with this. It's the attitude you'd expect from an elite manager. Which Emery obviously is.

No. But I don't think anyone in the country has apart from Man City.

You can now see some of the defensive systems and player combinations Emery tried in pre season. He wasn’t versatility and tactical flexibility in every situation. Everything Emery tries is so well thought through. Even if it doesn’t come off there is a plan vs some archaic, lazy approach of “giving it a good go”.
