What a bloody manager we have. If we get recruitment right in the summer we’re going to be in serious business.

It's interesting to think just how serious that business could be.  If we can replicate the form we have been in since his arrival over a whole season then we will be in very good shape.

There is really no reason why we can't do even better next season when Unai has had a proper transfer window and we're not held back by the Gerrard handicap.

The potential is ball tingling.

I would still say though, anywhere from 8th up would be a good season for next year.

Someone far better informed than I will break down today but it was another meticulously crafted plan, stifling their fullbacks, keeping Salah pretty quiet and getting excess midfield runners forward. What he doesn’t yet have at his disposal is the squad depth to evolve the plan later in the game but I’m sure that will be addressed in the summer.

Our premiership years usually have me wishing it all over before it is. Now, I want it to carry on because of Emery. Never have I felt this before. I did in the late 70s but the Premiership years, the first one apart, never till Emery.

I know exactly what you mean.  I've often felt that June and July are the best months of the year because I don't spend hours fretting about what the Villa have just done/will do next.  This summer I'll be bereft and wanting the season to start.

when I can came out the ground against Stevenage, some bloke was vocalising what I think most felt at the time, another season where we have nothing to play for ...  how wrong we were. Thank you Mr Emery.

I was up at Liverpool yesterday and i was having this exact conversation in the pub beforehand Bren. Im usually really happy its over for another year, but i am a bit gutted now, even more so because im missing Brighton because of a wedding. Emery has done wonders for our club in such a short space of time.

Postpone it until a later date. I’m sure she’ll understand.

It was called the Premiership from 93 to 07, when we were half decent a lot of the time. It's just the plain old Premier League for the last 16 years, during which time we've been mostly shit!

Emery really is a professor of football management, I'm so glad he has tenure at Villa Park.

I knew this was a top appointment and have been 100% from day one. However, I have to say it has gone even better than i could have imagined?

When is the new North Stand due for completion, 2026-27? By then, he may well have a case for it to be named for him (I say only half in jest!)

We can save that for 110,000 seat megadome we have to build as a result of his success.

I’d this had been happening when my lad was born, he’d have been called Unai.

This guy is the dogs.

Like others have said, apart from a few seasons, our players are normally on the beach from March onwards, but now we go into next week on the brink of qualifying for Europe.

What Unai has done after Subbuteo Heads damage is nothing short of a miracle.

I was one of many who at Old Trafford thought we had thrown a wonderful opportunity in the league cup, doubted his reasoning after Stevenage but now wildly glad we have a manager of Unai's status and knowhow.

Stevenage was a one off bad performance and Man U was down to that abysmal goalkeeper. I expect these issues to be fully addressed for next season.

The manner of the cup exits have probably been the only real disappointments of his time here so far.
