Not an exact science but to give an idea of the pace we're running at under Unai, this link includes the table after everyone had played at least 20 games. Then stick us with 42 points from 20 games in there.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64442953

Genuine title hopes at that stage.

Someone has probably already noticed this and posted about it. On every single Emery interview I have seen/heard  (literally dozens since he joined) he has used the word “improve” when he’s talking about performance. He must be constantly challenging the players to do better - and it’s clearly working

That, plus the first thing he normally does is mention the fans and all said with a good dose of humility thrown in .

In the last 10 games, Villa have conceded 3 goals. The next best team after this are Man City with 8.

Newcastle are only above us on games drawn you know. We've got the same number of wins - 16 (sixteen!) - as they do.
Good point, the Media have been hailing Newcastle as second coming of Barca 2008/9.

As I do every week, just watched his press conference on AV site, I could listen to him for ages. I can’t remember another manger who seems so level headed but also so tuned in to requirements. His philosophical approach to football and the players individually and collectively is amazing. I love Deano and all that he did for us to the extent I’ll probably always keep close tabs on whichever teams he manages now to follow his progress but Unai is a top class coach that we have been lacking for years in the modern era. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always been a big supporter and advocate of the majority of our managers/coaches in the last 50 years or so but we are so lucky now that we were able to recruit him and he wanted to come.
I’ve lost complete reason as to why I’ve started typing this but needed to share my immense gratitude to our owners for getting him, and Unai for also wanting us. Top class bloke !

Well said,

With our players now using their brains as well as their feet, having Unai is like, having an extra player on the pitch!!

Apparently we offered big money for Barcelona’s Sporting Director Mateu Alemany and he will leave June 30th..?

If Unai can pull it off.. my lord!

Yeah it's all over Twitter now, 'unbeatable offer' that Barca haven't even tried to match allegedly. I can't say I know much about him but poaching a sporting director from them feels like a pretty big statement.

But is he any good? Astute acquisitions in the transfer market is not something I associate with Barca*.

Not that it matters but he looks like Poch's older brother.

*I know he's only been there 2 years and was previously at Valencia.

No idea but if he's quit them for us because we are giving him an 'unlimited budget' I welcome the news.
