After Gerrard's 6th game we were 9th having played 17 games and were 5 points off 5th.
There is not much difference with where Unai is now after 7 from where Gerrard was to start with. If we go back to SG thread I bet people on here were singing his praises after 6 however I said at the time and would say it now 10/12 games is a better judgement point. Let's see where we are come end of Feb.

What are the lyrics to the song the away end were singing about him?

We've got super Unai Emery.... something something

It's a different tune to the Super John McGinn one. A bit more subtle, strong harmonics.

Had Emery been in charge from the start of the season, then applying  his win rate - 16 points from 21 to all 20 matches played so far would give us 45 points. 2nd in the table.

Under him we've beaten Spuds and ManU and if Bailey had had his shooting boots on, probably Liverpool too, so although extrapolating to 2nd place might be a bit too much it's pretty obvious/realistic to think that we'd be in the top 6.

We've got Super Unai Emery
He knows exactly what we need
Konza at the back
Bailey in attack

Sadly I couldn't make out the final line, neither of the players named were of my choice either.

Lacks ambition.

Champions League scans better as well.

Let’s wait until the end of the window before we start losing our minds. It’s not like Emery has been here that long and a number of our players aren’t exactly overly attractive saleable assets. That said we do need new ones coming in and with the very unfortunate enforced break next weekend it gives the club 2 weeks to bring in a settle in new signings. Fabrizio Romano of the international football journalists seems to be the most clued in and is suggesting we will likely make 2 or 3 signings before the window closes. That along with returning should be sufficient to give us a decent chance to secure a European spot.

I’m not normally the impatient type, even though I’m getting on a bit, but the time pressure is mainly being applied by having world class players like Emi and Kamara. If we don’t get on with it we’ll be left with a couple more Joe heartbreaks and another rebuild. Guendouzi would sort out the midfield for years to come and we could largely address our attacking deficiencies in this window as well. Seeing how Carlos and Moreno  are for a few months will give UE more insight into what we need in defence in the summer.

I think the issue is the accusation of the owners not backing him if  we don't bring anyone in. We've already had the 'get your fucking finger out' nonsense. I'm not saying we don't néed players to push on, of course we do. Do we need them right now? Yeah, it would help but if we can't get the ones he wants, what can you do? He's already hinted at waiting until the summer. People need to chill.

Lacks ambition.

Champions League scans better as well.

Scans better than the version we had for the last bloke

We've got useless Steven Gerrard
Clueless as to what we need
A shambles at the back
Toothless in attack
We'll be lucky not to be relegated under this Action Man haired twat

Liverpool were too clinical for us. Bailey with his boots on or not, we lost to the better team.
