This might be a bit of a stretch but I do wonder if our overall transfer strategy and cultural change desired by Emery has been influenced by the adversity if Stevenage. He trusted and sent a strong team out there to do a professional job only to end up with egg on his face. He looked crestfallen that night. There will be a lot of change at our club in the next two windows.
I think for INgs it's more than just Stevenage. Our 3 worst performances under Emery have been Man U in the cup, Stevenage and Leeds

Unai has been saying he’s ‘happy with the players’ he inherited and wanted to work with then before making additions. Stevenage changed all of that and now he’s on a mission to clear out the deadwood

The mere suggestion he changed tact after the Stevenage game insults our manager's intelligence.Typical NPC analysis.

By selling him Emery has played his hand to show which way he is going with that.

He talked right after that the game gave him information. So I suggested it helped influence our approach this January and likely accelerated what he was going to do anyway.
Its not to outrageous to suggest that after a chastening defeat like Stevenage, that the manager may look at the players that were so woeful and think, perhaps some of these are not for me. NCP.

Anyone got access to John Percy's article on Emery? Seems to have just been posted but is behind a paywall.
