He continued: “I’m being exposed to a whole new different way of coaching - not better or worse - just different. It’s the first foreign manager I’ve worked under - I don’t think Mick McCarthy counts - and his coaching staff have such an impressive attention to detail that I’m learning every day.

Roy Keane asks Tyrone to hold his beer...

Quote
You’re a f***ing w***er. I didn’t rate you as a player, I don’t rate you as a manager and I don’t rate you as a person.,” Keane is alleged to have shouted at McCarthy in front of his stunned teammates.

“You can stick your World Cup up your a**e. I’ve got no respect for you. The only reason I have any dealings with you is that somehow you are the manager of my country! You can stick it up your b*****ks.”

He didn’t stop there, even questioning his gaffer’s on-field ability as well as his right to manage the side having been born in Barnsley, despite representing Ireland as a player.

“You were a bad player anyway,” he’s reported to have said of his boss. “You had a rubbish first touch and you’re a poor manager. The only manager I respect is Sir Alex Ferguson, and you’re English, you’re not even Irish.”

And to think there are people out there that don't love Roy Keane.

Gerard Houllier was probably the last manager we had who had an idea about tactics, in game and out of game tactics, and he wasn’t here for long.
I don’t know who would be the one before him before you get into just the British managers age

Yes it's exciting.

If it weren't for Roy, the Eire squad would have been GroupThink!

“Most of the games I’ve had in the Premier League, I’ve been learning on the job. When I signed for Villa, I’d played maybe 20 games at centre-back. Now I’m tuning into what an elite centre-back should be.”

Thias line is the most important one for me, when he joined we were getting someone with the sort of experience, in the position, you'd expect for a 20-21 year old. Mistakes are always going to happen for someone with so little experience and I think it's pretty clear that he's improved massively over the 3 and a half years since he signed.

I really like the confidence of the 2nd part as well, I've always thought his biggest problem was that he never quite believed he was so he went out to prove himself every game, rather than just getting on with the job.

I always have a mild panic attack when he’s not in the team, which (I’m guessing) is justified by results.

I knew I'd forgotten to lump you in with Footy and Fred as a renegade.

Fred was furious about the empty seat at our table for four tonight. Left a full naan!

Where were the people on the so-called ‘waiting list’?

As much as I am annoyed,  I heard from the guy who figured the title,  that it was because he was impressed with his start

This might be a bit of a stretch but I do wonder if our overall transfer strategy and cultural change desired by Emery has been influenced by the adversity if Stevenage. He trusted and sent a strong team out there to do a professional job only to end up with egg on his face. He looked crestfallen that night. There will be a lot of change at our club in the next two windows.
