I should've known when this morning when 5 Live were talking about Emery being a cup specialist... Well it's now played two, lost two. And both were there for the winning.

Unai Emery: "Yes, I'm really shocked. The mistake was a big mistake. The last five minutes we didn't control our mind. It's a message, we have to learn and improve. We can't think we are better, we are Aston Villa. I'm upset, sorry with our supporters. Each match gives us information."

Well,he must have all the info he needs now! Get the axe out!

You can’t change things this quickly. He will need two windows at minimum. But many of these players will be elsewhere come August.

A bit of good news to end on.

His job was to get Villa through to the next round of the FA Cup.
He failed.

Crashing out of the cup with a weakened side away at Manchester United is one thing but this CRAP is unacceptable. Losing at home to Stevenage is disgraceful

Our best hope of Europe is via the cups and that's what the club keep whining on about yet it seems we do all we can to get out of the competitions.

Enquiry needed.

First half V Wolves + tonight and questions really need to be asked.  We are in desperate need of a new no.2 and s complete rethink about how we operate as a football club in the cups.

I said when Gerrard was given the boot that the players were the main problem, and I stand by that. Too many who just aren't even remotely good enough.

I agree that everybody on the pitch today, up to the time of the first subs, should be sold.
They should have got 5 or 6 v Stevenage, by then.
Useless.

The other thing is that SG didn’t identify them to be moved on either, and Coutinho is one of them.

He's undone a lot of the great work so far with that performance today. On the plus side, it might make him ruthless about what needs to be done. He's used to managing top quality squads, he'll know that there's a lot to do before he manages one with us. I assume he'll get in a couple of his targets this month and with a schedule-friendly few months ahead of us now that we've fucked-up again in the cups, he's got to be aiming for top-half.

I don’t think an enquiry is needed is it? It’s an abysmal result, obviously. I’m sure the club are fully aware.

He's undone nothing as far as I am concerned. I have watched us underachieve for the past 25 years and I look at his Cv and drool. Our players, none of whom he signed btw, went out and bottled it against a lower league team at home. It's on them, not him.

If Emery doesn't get time at villa I guarantee we won't be getting in anybody with a better CV. We have to stick with this through thick and thin if we want to end the drought.

That’s twice is his first 6 games we’ve conceded from the keeper passing to a player near the box with his back to the opposition. I like Emery and think he’ll do a great job, but maybe let’s knock that part of the distribution on the head. It basically offers very little value and clearly presents an unnecessary risk.

I prefer to focus on the fact he got us 10 points from a run of five games that reads: Man United (h), Brighton (a), Liverpool (h), Spurs (a), Wolves (h).

We've managed to get rid of all the 'Good ebening' bollocks but seem to have replaced it by a weird obsession with Emery's coat. Why are people bothered? He isn't turning up dressed like Jimmy Savile FFS!

The side he picked should have enough professionalism about them to beat a fourth tier team.  He's been here a couple of months and needs time to bring in his own players as he has no choice but to work with what he's been served.
