Pre Emery   13 games 12 points

With Emery  4  games  9 points
Enough said.

And post Gerrard 6 games 12 points.

All against top half teams. Gerrard was losing against a load of shite.

El maestro, a supremely talented manager, has been working with the group of players and has every confidence in continuing to use his way to achieve the best.
These players were very unlucky against Liverpool, and they executed the game plan so well and efficiently against  Spurs today. Same players Gerrard had.
I can see how it might take a game or two to get back into things, but today's performance and result were masterful, and it was all thanks to Emery and his team selection.

it's great to have a manager that is actually using coaching and tactics to win games and improve players.

It's been years since we could say this.

The speed at which he has made such a difference with the same players that we watched toiling at Fulham only a few weeks ago is absolutely incredible.

It’s been a great start. Puts to bed the myth that some people trot out sometimes that the manager is a secondary factor in a team’s success.

Cash for Bailey to nullify Sessegnon was a great example of his tactical awareness.

Sessegnon is rubbish let's be honest (after being excellent for Fulham years ago). We didn't need to nullify anything there. I wasn't keen on that switch at all but to be fair Cash got on plenty of ball when he came on (wonder if Emery has concerns about Cash in a 4?) Chambers came on in midfield and we switched back to a 4 soon after with Bednarek replacing Konsa surprisingly (but he did ok too).

Sessegnon has the pace to have been dangerous, the change nullified the risk of him using it.

Formation, tactics, substitutions - today was a masterclass from Unai.

Every game sees us develop and improve a little bit more, and results like today's will increase the buy-in from the squad to what he wants from them.

What he's done in a matter of months with the "duffers" who Steeeeeeevie G (all hail the Scouse maestro!) couldn't get a tune out of is possibly more than we expected.

Think what he might be able to achieve with the right signings over the next couple of windows.

No doubt there will be a few stumbles and trips along the way, but we just need to hold our nerve, keep the faith and stay positive. We could be witnessing the start of a period of real success.

Onwards and upwards.

Something about this chap which I rather like. Don’t believe it to be a false dawn either. Please keep it up Wednesday and despatch Bilston with aplomb.

It's been a long time since we had a manager whose command of English is a little iffy (I think Remi Garde's was decent, wasn't it? I try to block those 6 months from my memory bank).
It's been a long time since we had a manager whose command of tactics, and in-game changes have been so impressive.
I know which I'd prefer.

Emery is in every sense, an elite manager - I just hope that as a club we can match his ambitions, because if we can, we are in for some very good times.

The last one was O'Leary. Everything he said was inexplicably shit.
