Cash for Bailey to nullify Sessegnon was a great example of his tactical awareness.

Just unsure why Cash does not start. I like Ashley a ton, but I prefer Cash going forward.

Today I susp[ect it was because we wanted a right back who stayed back and kept an eye on perisic and son rather than worrying about getting forward.

The clean sheet is proof enough that the manager was right in selecting Ash to start.

Beeb facts

Emery became the first Villa manager since John Gregory in 1998 to win his first two Premier League away matches.

The Spaniard also set a record of 55 Premier League games in charge without being involved in a goalless draw, surpassing former Spurs boss Ossie Ardiles.

Easily the most able manager we have had a Villa since MON. Did a complete job on Spurs today.

Tactical fantastic. Young was MOM first half. I was surprised when he took Bailey off for cash but again a great decision.

I don't understand, with their resources Spurs should be looking at wiping the floor with us.

Sessegnon is rubbish let's be honest (after being excellent for Fulham years ago). We didn't need to nullify anything there. I wasn't keen on that switch at all but to be fair Cash got on plenty of ball when he came on (wonder if Emery has concerns about Cash in a 4?) Chambers came on in midfield and we switched back to a 4 soon after with Bednarek replacing Konsa surprisingly (but he did ok too).

Konsa had a knock, so that's why he was subbed.

A pleasing thing for me is that in all 3 wins we haven't spent the last part of the games desperately clinging on. 3 decent sides and between them they barely managed an effort worthy of the name late on.

Dunno, last 20 minutes at Brighton we just sat back. They may not have created much but it was still uncomfortable to watch.
