The one disappointment I have is that we are leaving a possible emerging future star to stagnate. Ings did little or nothing when he came on, the crowd would have re-acted very positively to Cam coming on. I don't know whether he will fullfil the promise but at least give him the chance.

He will, Robbo, but when you're 3-1 up with a few minutes left, throwing on a player who (in the mind of the opposition) is a 'prolific' goalscorer is a great way to ensure that they keep a few men back to cover him, and therefore maintain a defensive mindset.

The clip of him walking down the touchline after the final whistle was fantastic- he was beaming.

Watkins, our striker was brilliant and didn't have a shot of any description I can remember.  Ramsey, our said to be driving force was suddenly our driving force.  I'm so pleased for him as he's a player. Martinez for the Digne free kick, like a conductor controlling his orchestra, a worthy captain he is.  Mings, our unofficial real captain, coolness personified. In fact all of them to a man subs included put out a great team performance and can now go and do the same on Thursday with confidence.

It's nothing short of a miracle, after some of the truely awful performances we've had to endure this season, everything just seemed to click yesterday. I must admit I was resigned to another defeat yesterday, but after that I'm confident we can go to Brighton and get a win at the weekend.

Can anyone confirm who has won the toss for the last 2 home games? Having us play in to the Holt first half, really seems to have our players firing on all cylinders right from the start.

We made them poor. Our tactics were all about forcing their players to make decisions and then knowing how to react to what they did. What it meant was there was always space for at least 1 from Buendia, Bailey and Ramsey to move into and make things happen. Ramsey in particular took full advantage of that space.

I thought we had a real chance when I saw their line up yesterday. DVB, Ronaldo, Casemiro and Garnacho all had played a hard game in Sociedad on Thurs night, surprised EtH didn't rotate a lot more. They had no pace up top with DvB and Ronaldo which meant we could easily play out from the back. Buendia and Ramsey dropping into the middle when we had the ball meant we easily outnumbered the plodding Casemiro and Eriksen. Was glad to see EtH not change it at half time, at 3-1 I thought we were comfortable and left his subs far too late.

A great day all in all but still only three points. I saw a bit of Chelsea v Arsenal earlier in the day. Chelsea were rancid. There's only two top teams in the PL this season, Citeh and Arsenal. The rest are all capable of beating one another on a given day. Newcastle have a serious chance of getting top 4.
