I love his face. Kindly but strong, intelligent but sensitive. I'm going to fall asleep dreaming of him.

Seen it too many times to get overly-excited, but cautiously optimistic.

Emery out. Can’t organise a defence as evidenced by the soft goal taking a shine off todays performance.

Sometimes you get so lonely
Sometimes you get nowhere
I've lived all over the world
I've left every place

Please be mine
Share my life
Stay with me
Be my wife

What a way to start. I mean, incredible. Start your villa management career by ending the 27 year hoodoo that lot have over us?
Has there been a better start to a villa managerial career?

The closest I can remember was O Neill's first game where we were very unlucky not to beat Arsenal in their first Emirates match. We've certainly outdone that.
Before that, Gregory 2-1 against Liverpool. Collymore scoring 2

Can't believe I forgot Gregory's first game, yes that was a superb day out in 1998. We were well worth that win too.

Coaching from the dugout. Shameful! Has nobody told him we don’t do that.

Did everything perfect today! Made us dominant with the high press. Animated on the touch line. Got all the substitutions spot on. Knew how to see that game out. 6 minutes fergie time they had yet there was only 1 team on the ball for the duration.
Being coached/managed properly made a huge impact today. Well done Unai!

Today reminded me of when we convincingly beat Chelsea at VP just before Mourinho got sacked (first time).

Thought that was O'Neill's first season but was actually the start of his second in September 2007.

That was the lift off result we needed to become established top 6 team again for a period.
