Bit odd that he's not starting today really.  Hopefuly he's already getting on with player and staff meetings etc ready to hit the ground running tomorrow.

Doesn’t his work permit kick in tomorrow? If so I hope he’s not having staff meetings etc yet.

Work permit reasons I bet. If it's anything like the fucking passport office or DVLA, we're lucky he's going to start this season.

the fast track work permit process is 5 working days. so assuming it was filed last monday, tomorrow is the earliest start date.

Why not?  If he's not being paid what's the problem with him having mettings etc?

Because it's against the law.

What, a few zoom meetings or phone calls?  Or touring the training ground and having a chat with a few players or staff?  Attending a game as a guest?  I seriously doubt it.

The police will be kicking his doors for doing some video analysis next.

You can doubt what you like, but your feelings don't trump actual law I'm afraid. He's a high profile appointment. Do you think a) it's a better idea to just wait a couple of days until everything is official or b) take a chance in doing something you're not allowed to and risk delaying things for a lot longer? If it's b), then please don't apply for a job as an HR administrator any time soon!

Do we know for sure who he is bringing with him?

That tit Balague was saying it’s an exciting appointment, someone who knows the PL yada yada yada

What's this about? Why is he a tit? Why is it yada yada yada to have an elite coach with trophies galore coming into our club for the first time in 30 years?

It's about Balague being a tit, because he is a tit, I think. Yeah, I'm sure it's about the tittiness of Balague, the big tit.

I think he's very knowledgeable about La Liga, more so than anyone else on the telly box  I'd say.  Yes, he does have an ego and presents his opinion as more than just that but all football reporters and hacks are guilty of that.  I'll reserve his tit and big tit description until I see evidence of such.

And for God's sake don't start work on that huge kitchen extension until you have planning in place.

I have no doubt Unai is working in the background to get up to speed however it's not possible for the Club to be announcing that publically. He is probably with his new team (staff) making assessments but just not involving anyone at Villa for now. I wouldn't be surprised if his team have been living in his house since last week.

I have visions of an FBI safe house, everyone getting pissed off eating pizza all week and only having a couple of videos to watch.

Will there be an unveiling presser as well as a pre-match presser ahead of the next game? They guy will be all pressed-out, like Mr Woodhall's blog thread titles.
