It could have been 7 or 8 in the 2nd half, so I'd say that's quite embarrassing.

Yeah, we gave up in the second half and it did become a bit humiliating.....

It happens all too often aswell, I'm certain we're amongst the worst clubs for points won from losing positions over the past few seasons.

Emery has a massive job with these players.

They're soft as shit.

Curing 'softness' is often a case of just putting in place a system the players believe in and making clear your expectations of them.

I don't think our lads are world-beaters but they're better than fucking Newcastle, for example.

For too long they've been told 'this is your position, roll your sleeves up, look me in the eye and create some magic'.

Cultivate a system of play based on your strengths and your opponents' weaknesses and the players will respond. The ones that don't, you look to replace.

We have more than enough to stay up. Now that the positivity vacuum has gone, we can give a real manager time and money to sort us out.

These are great points mate.

I don't think our players are better than Newcastle's, however. And I hate Newcastle.

I just don't think any of our players would get in Newcastle's team. Maybe big Emi?

We have no identity or personality in our squad. Just average at best, lacking pace, lacking character. No, I'm just not impressed.

The key word in all that is ‘team’ Newcastle have one because the players believe, try and do the basics well. They’re a team.

Ours are a bit fucking soft. At everything.

You can see why Gerrard was after Tarkowski in the summer. You need players who don't throw the towel in once they're under the cosh.
Agree.
Everton getting both Tarkowski and Coady was very good business.

I just hope that Emery is tough enough to do what needs to be done. He comes across as an incredibly nice guy, he needs to have a tough core behind it. I'm not sure that was the case at Arsenal.

I think it's acknowledged they tied his hands a bit with regards to getting rid and who they bought in.

Agreed, but he still didn't get the best out of what he had at the end, and that's what we need him to do here. It also looked like he was presiding over all out civil war, and couldn't control the players.

It was always going to be a tough gig, following Wenger with it already crumbling around him. They still haven't had a better season either side of it, finished fifth and got the Europa Cup final, that's more than O'Neill managed with us with a barrel of money, full control, and 27 right backs.

What's this about? Why is he a tit? Why is it yada yada yada to have an elite coach with trophies galore coming into our club for the first time in 30 years?

It's about Balague being a tit, because he is a tit, I think. Yeah, I'm sure it's about the tittiness of Balague, the big tit.
