How many people were actually part of Gerrard’s circus?

Critchley
Gary Mac
Tom Culshaw
Jordan Milson
That other one.

Gary MacAllister needs to refuse any future invites to coach at Villa Park.

Danks is a tricky one.  Highly regarded but before the Brentford game I imagine most of us would have asked what he actually does.  He seems a good sort and hopefully Emery can make use of him in the 1st team set up, but if not then unless he moves to working with the youth teams I can't see much point keeping him on if he's just a spare part.

I read somewhere that he didn't play much of a role under Gerrard. I was pleased at his appointment and having seen a couple of videos at the time he had a good way of doing things and clearly has a lot about him.

Given what he did last weekend, one would imagine Emery would be interested in seeing more.

Let's see what transpires though, gut feeling says that he'll stay.

Oh that’s what he was supposed to be doing, thanks for clearing that up.

Excited about Emery. Seems a genuine 'top 10 in the world' type coach/manager/whatever.

Hope Danks stays. No idea how good he is, but the videos suggest he might be. However, having some kind of continuity on the staff side makes sense - should help any new manager/coaches quickly get up to speed with the foibles of the squad.

That can't be right. Like, even if I don't get a work permit, I'm allowed to phone someone and give them advice, or tell them what I'd do if I were to become their boss. If he doesn't get a work permit, he enacts nothing so it changes nothing - what's the difference?

When it comes to pending work permits I'd be inclined to err on the side of caution. Not that I think they'd hold up Unai's.

Yes me too.  So far I've seen very little in the usual media outlet places that reflects what is a bit of a coup for the Villa.  There was even something earlier about Newcastle 'dodging a bullet' by going for Howe.  Unbelievable really, for what is usually not a click bait place.  https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2022/oct/28/premier-league-10-things-to-look-out-for-this-weekend

Maybe the stories will ramp up when he properly takes over next week.

How much do you reckon Assistant coaches and backroom staff get paid
I mean managers and players can earn millions Emery will be on a few mil a year
What would someone like to Danks be on

Just being nosy

Wonder why Danks didn't appear to get much of a look in with the team setup with Gerrard. As they're totally opposite approaches.

I actually think that a number of our players will actually thrive with having the level of information and detailed coaching that we can expect from Emery. Some of them (Mings, Watkins, Ings spring immediately to mind) have had to work their way up to get to where they are now. I suspect they’ll be excited to develop under a coach like Emery and will improve.

It's Louise Taylor. Just putting it through her North East filter like everything else. She could shoehorn Newcastle into an article about Ukraine.

This is the first time in a long time, if ever, Villa have gone out and got an internationally renowned manager. It’s incredibly exciting.

Talking to an Arsenal supporting lawyer mate of mine today, and he says that to be a success Emery needs to avoid the mistakes he made at Arsenal. They had more piss-taking twats there, but by the end he'd lost control completely apparently, with players openly mocking him.
