Ahhh Madri, that well known Spanish beer from Burton upon Trent

A very decent Spanish beer that's brewed in Spain (Madrid) and available in some supermarkets over here (Morrisons, Waitrose) is Mahou.

They have it on tap here in a pub up the road. Lovely beer.
Madri is awful, it’s like Peroni, full of shit and gives a horrible hangover.

I always said that the sales people who flogged Madri deserve an award, it came out of nowhere and next thing it was in every pub supermarket and outdoor.

San Miguel is better anyway.

Sid Lowe in this morning's Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/oct/25/unai-emery-is-an-elite-manager-with-something-to-put-right-at-aston-villa?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

This guy is gonna leave us in tears if he gets any more philosophical (Unai, not Sid). Words flow like wine, the prose full of drama and evocation. Granted, the romantic languages and translations from them will tend to highlight this but imagine Paul Lambert coming out with some of these  lyrics, the boring, basic bogger.

Maybe we can get Unai to write a poem for the wall on the new North Stand, join forces with Zephaniah.

Better when it's hot and sunny outside. Mahou and San Miguel are the same company too.

Guillem Balagué said Unai is a 'process man'. I am not sure what that really means, but as long as they are good processes that'll be fine, and if what Balagué says about Villa in a year's time, that will also be good!

Would love to get ITK about what went down at Arsenal. His stats there were very good yet claims are he lost the dressing room (Ozil etc), reverted to boring football at the end (trying to stave off defeats), and generally lost the plot a little with the media etc. Yet, he followed a legend (always extremely difficult) and made them far better than they were in Wenger's final season. Then was fired.

I'm super pumped, brilliant appointment, but that's the one stain on his CV.

He makes a big play of saying he wanted Zaha but the club preferred Pepe. From memory, I think his Arsenal had a Leicester like collapse under him and missed out on a CL spot. Dreadful performance in EL final too.

Once Poch and Tuchel pulled out, Emery was the top of the next best. Some disappointments on his CV aren't necessarily a bad thing. I just hope he fits in better with the DOF model we completely went away from under Gerrard.
