Let it Be sounds a bit too navel gazing and introspective to me.

We're expecting football fans to go up and down an octave and convey pathos too. Hmm. Maybe.

Emery, Emery, Emery to the tune of Here We Go or Everton's only song is far less taxing.

Thanks Unai, our first top 5 finish since 1997. And we finished 5th with 61 points and 47 goals. In fact even finishing 4th in '96 was 63 points. The turnaround in this club since that 3-0 at Fulham is staggering.
The glass ceiling shattered st last.

Could work, I suppose.

And if you know our Emery,
It's enough to make your heart go worrrrrrrrr,
We don't care what the BBC say,
What the f*ck do we care?
Because we always know,
That there's gonna be a show,
When the Emery boys are there.

it's a phenomenol achievement and I don't think it has sunk in with many people. An awful lot has happened in the world since we were last this good, a top 5 club in the league:

New Labour been and gone
Princess Diana died
World cups in 98, 02, 06, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022
Kosovo
9/11 of course
Iraq
Obama
Trump
Brexit
The pandemic
Ukraine

Seventh last year in his first season in charge, and now a guaranteed top five finish with three games still to play, and a minimum of Europa League football in 2024-2025.

He's an absolute genius.

We're so fortunate to have Unai as our manager.

When he talks about our progress without resorting to the whinging and whining of so many other managers, it makes you proud of him and the way in which he conducts himself.

Truly a gentleman and a scholar (of the game).

Drummond, Sheffield: Hi Simon, who's your vote for Manager of the season? Surely Unai Emery is the favourite with what he's achieving.

Simon stone
Emery has to be right up there Drummond. He has done a superb job at Aston Villa, taking them to the brink of a Champions League place also still in contention for the Europa Conference League.

Pep Guardiola could become the first manager to take a team to four successive top flight titles and could be the first to do the domestic double in successive seasons, which is not without merit. And Mikel Arteta could win the title.

Looking further down the list, if either Luton or Burnley stay up, that would reflect really well on Rob Edwards and Vincent Kompany while, given they have been battling with clubs receiving parachute payments, Kieran McKenna has done phenomenally well to take Ipswich to the brink of promotion.

Top five finish takes him above O'Neil in the list of best villa managers. He'll be chasing down the great Brian Little next.

Also, with 5th, he soars past the great David O'Leary.

Frankly, his win ratio of  over 58% to now, puts him miles ahead of any other manager in our entire history.

I have so much love and affection for SGT's first stint with us. Truly wonderful times but if SUE is a new generation's SGT then that makes me very happy indeed.  A decent man who is deserving of the comparison.
