We had 2 sides qualify. West Ham qualified independently as their prize for being winners of the Conference.

And if they'd finished 6th last season then there'd have been another league spot.

Sky had this up at the weekend before the Cup Final  was set.

1-4 - CL

5 - Europa

6 - Europa (if FA Cup winners finish Top 5)

6 - Conference (if FA Cup winners finish outside Top 5)

7 - Conference (if FA Cup Winners finish in Top 6)

I really wish we could get some traction on the SUE version of Let it be

"When we found ourselves in times of trouble, Nas and Wes called to me, Speaking words of wisdom, Emery - Emery, Emery, Emery, Emery, speaking words of wisdom, Emery"

I think it is perfect and to have the whole of VP bellow it out would be incredible.

Was and Nassef not Nas and Wes.

Also there's too many words.

The best way to get it going is to make the song, upload it to YouTube and get it sent round.

Change the second line to "Uni Emery came to me" and it works fine. It also has the potential to just become a club "anthem" if he leaves in 10 years time and we just sing regular old Let it Be.

That's fine too.

Always thought that Emery/Let it Be song would be a spine-tingling experience around a packed Villa Park, and seeing as nobody else has done it, I've knocked up a version myself - Share it far and wide. Let's make it happen!

Added a live version of McCartney singing it - Think it helps to sell it.
Would be 'hairs on the back of your neck raising' with this echoing around Villa Park. 🙏🏼

Just wondering - does any other club sing it, either as an anthem or for a specific player/manager?

I reckon as good as it sounds as an idea it won't really work as a crowd song.

Some, can't say that any of them ring any bells though.

When we find ourselves in times of trouble, Stevie G runs past me, playing the game with wisdom, Stevie G,...

Urgh.

Yes, because they'd have qualified independently. We only award one PL place (nominally 5th) to the EL, and The FA Cup winners get the other.

If they'd finished in the top 5 there wouldn't have been 3 English clubs in the EL this season.

That’s ace. I’d love to be at the ground with that going.

This might be the best press conferences I’ve listened to from Unai. His answers are just so motivating. Not just for demanding results but the focus on personal development and the squad. What a fucking wonderful manager we have. This is the Twitter link but you can see the whole thing on the club site. Well worth a listen.

Thanks Unai, our first top 5 finish since 1997. And we finished 5th with 61 points and 47 goals. In fact even finishing 4th in '96 was 63 points. The turnaround in this club since that 3-0 at Fulham is staggering.
