If Bailey attempted to punch anyone, nine times out of ten he would miss and fall over.

*humble brag alert* I once played against PSG youth and they communicated on the pitch almost exclusively by “psst’ and ‘tsssk’ noises.  The absence of “man on” and “one-two” instructions made guessing what they’d do almost impossible, …so i can understand the benefit of having a shared mysterious calling system (see also line-out calls in rugby).

That said, I don’t think Spanish ticks that box and I very much doubt an intelligent guy like Emery would adopt an approach that is akin to an English bloke moving to Spain and only eating a full English whilst reading the Sun.

This besmirching will end when there are likely 11 players who can speak and comprehend Spanish in our Squad next season which means can field a whole team. And I can see that happening.

Even before the likelihood of appointing a Spanish director of football

So like right now at Villa employ a manager and coaches aswell as have 8 first team players who speak Spanish that's only going to increase in the summer. Not only this several Villa players will holiday in areas where Spanish is spoken.

Muchas gracias

It could well become the lingua franca at BMH, it'll just take a bit of time. As a well-known Spanish proverb puts it, 'La práctica hace El Maestro'.

Yes because he only had Spanish speaking players at Villarreal didn’t he? You don’t half come out with some bollocks.

Well, ok but 3 more players could feasibly be signed  who can speak Spanish and  that isn't surprising.
An Argentina perhaps and either a Spainard or two and another South American potentially?

Wenger and the French colony at Arsenal was prob the first occasion where the main key foreign players came from the same spot at an English club (there was the mini Dutch colony at Ipswich back in the 80s, ofc).

They used English at training and at the ground and I expect it's the same with worselves. And every other club who's faced a similar scenario since then. Seeing as Moreno is still taking English lessons he might get the odd in-game message from Emery in the mother tongue.

But it won't be a priority for Calum Chambers, Jed Steer or Cameron Archer to speaka de lingo in an attempt to get into Emery's good books.
