Who's smacked our Unai in the face, hell of a shiner he was sporting in the press conference!

Just about to comment on that. Being able to speak Spanish, was probably spinning some fine yarns in that accent to the young ladies down on Broad Street and likely had them fighting over him. Not that they had a clue what he said. Took a blow to the brain for a good cause.

We can all have our theories.

Nope. I made it all up. Like most conspiracy theories

I thought you were quoting an ITK.

Isn't that the same thing?

I like the way that Unai bats away the clichéd questions by coming back to the same type of answer - we're trying to get a way of playing in place that will work on a regular basis.

If anyone player has been told to take the weekend off then they are the prime suspect as say tensions flared on the training ground and a frustration that spills over but it's more uncommon these days a coming together between a manager and player. I recall back in the day when players had to keep O'Neill and Reo-Coker apart.

I very much don't think any player did this to Emery but any sudden omissions may start to wonder.

"Sudden omissions" are a cause for concern, to be sure.

That's not what you need when building the family and implementing a new way.

Less of that class of thing. Stop sudden omissions and emissions, for that matter.

We'll have no premature ejaculations here. Not in the Family Stand anyhoo.

How rude.

I reckon he got that shiner after a Donnybrook with Next King Will over who the starting full backs should be.

Big brawl with Purslow after he rejected Emery's request to buy all the left backs in La Liga.

I heard from an ITK i know that the team have all been undergoing intensive Spanish lessons (including the Spanish ones, Emery is that much of a perfectionist).

Anyway, during the week, apparently Emery told Bailey, in Spanish, to not be afraid to take on his man more often and to show confidence.

Bailey, despite being one of the better students, totally misunderstood what Emery said and thought it was "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberry" and understandably, reacted badly, and punched him, hence the black eye.

¡What a carry on!

The next day the whole squad had a two hour Spanish language session, each of them being sent clips to their ipad, explaining where they need to brush up their learning.

Several of the squad are apparently struggling, and these ones will be sold in the summer and replaced with Spanish speakers if they fail to pass their end of season test. Metty Cesh in particular is mixing up his Polish and Spanish, and Ashley Young is struggling so much with Spanish prepositions, he's thinking of retiring early.

Yup, whilst running around Bodymoor screaming "Non dago Amorim irakaslearen nire coaching liburua?" ;)

This besmirching will end when there are likely 11 players who can speak and comprehend Spanish in our Squad next season which means can field a whole team. And I can see that happening.

Even before the likelihood of appointing a Spanish director of football

So like right now at Villa employ a manager and coaches aswell as have 8 first team players who speak Spanish that's only going to increase in the summer. Not only this several Villa players will holiday in areas where Spanish is spoken.

Muchas gracias
