just thinking if he'd have played a full side last night, and had to rest players for Brighton then people would have moaned. The squad lacks real depth.

Why would he have to rest players for Brighton? If we can't play a mid-week game followed by a weekend match how on earth are we going to manage if we ever finally qualify for Europe?
we'll have a better squad by then :)

Saying a victory is demoralising is hardly savage criticism is it? How do you think they were feeling after Thursday? Olsen was pictured with his head in his hands slumped on the floor at the final whistle.

At least he held something.

Equating calling a defeat demoralising to sharpening the knives for the manager is such a leap that even Sam Beckett couldn't do it.

It’s like they can’t read.

Youve been calling people with different views to yours as nutters, and insinuating prople can’t read, hardly reasoned discussion to settle it down.

Not people with different views. People who can’t tell the difference between ‘the manager dropped a clanger’ and ‘sack the manager’. What would you call me if I said that by sticking up for him you were actually calling for him to be given a fifty year contract?

If he did it to learn about the players then the likes of Mcginn and Ings will barely feature again. We'll see.

No he didn't I am afraid, his intent was to scratch his bollocks.

Maybe there was something in the reports that the Argentina boss asked clubs to rest players this week? Martinez does suffer from tendonitis (revealed in the Ben foster interview) Will be interesting to see if he's in the nets tomorrow. They've given Emi special dispensation previously.

Someone would very quickly have to get a mannequin to stick between the posts

I hardly think it was a hugely demoralising performance Risso. Now who's getting their knickers in a twist?

It absolutely was. The goalkeeper was awful and made us lose whilst conceding 4 goals.

Well, I can't help that for you. For the team, I doubt it.

Sam couldn't do it, but Harold Pinter could when he was pissed off.

To be honest, i was gutted that we lost but mainly because it was against them. Let’s face it, most clubs don’t see the cup games the way we do as fans. I think Emery was right to look at the deeper squad because now he knows what he’s got to work with. Better he did that in what the club might term an expendable game rather than against Brighton tomorrow for instance. These are also the very players who many posters were describing as only “needing proper coaching”
to improve. As for winning a cup, god yes but it doesn’t have to be this season. He’s got a four year contract.
