18th top scorer in the league. I'll add that to his Wiki page list of honours.

My concern with Buendia is that when he starts he's usually bright for about 15-20 mins then starts giving the ball away or vanishes from the game.
He fits right in

There was a time when Villa number 9s scored goals.

Do you mean like Ollie Watkins in the last 2 seasons where he was 8th and 18th top scorer in the league?

fucking hell mate.

He's used to only playing 15- 20 minutes from the bench. Probably needs more starts to get 'conditioned' for playing 90 minutes.

In a league of 20 teams, where a number of the players above him are midfielders and a number come from the same clubs 18th is still easily a top half striker. Also that 18th was in a season where he'll have been disappointed not to have done better.

He's started this season poorly, in a team that has struggled to create chances (we're 17th on number of shots so far this season) and is clearly struggling to find form but the comments about him have been ridiculous since sunday.

I saw a stat a while ago that last season he was something like the joint 6th highest scoring striker in the PL if you didn't include penalties. As has been said, these days, more often than not it's about midfielders and wide attackers scoring. The problem we have is that no one else is scoring either. After 8 league games no one has scored more than 1 goal for us, which is shit.

Yep, our lack of goals is a team wide issue not all on his shoulders, which is why I put it down to tactics more than anything else.

I think for some fans/posters, it's a case of pick on one player. Let's face it, other than Mings and maybe Kamara early on, no-one has been great.

A fairly comfortable 2-0, and we continue to muddle on with Gerrard just keeping his head above water.

We will rely on the counter. If we concede early we are fucked. I think this is the end for Gerrard. It will be a miserable game and a late goal to them wins it.

1-0 Forest.

If we win, their manager will be sacked. If they win, ours will be.

I like their manager, I don't like ours. I quite like Forest but I love the Villa. It's a right pickle.

It's not a pickle. Whoever the opposition and personnel, like or loathe them, you always want the Villa to win.

I have this vision. A possible season changing game for one or both teams

Even we can beat this shambles. They look like us in 2015/16 but with an excuse.

Lose and Gerrard can fuck off
