2-1 win for Villa.  Watkins and a late McGinn winner having been booed all game for tackling Archie Gray in preseason.

Villa loss.
Unconvinced by manager and 4 points from last 6.
Kamara being out will leave a huge gap that won't be filled.
UTV and I hope I'm wrong!

2-1 to them with a VAR chaos themed winner by Bamford.

Gerrard binned and in comes Southgate to save the day.

That's the nightmare scenario.

In reality, we win 4-2 with Mings scoring and crowdsurfing amongst the Leeds barbarians

Think we'll get our away form off and running at last. It won't be pretty, and maybe a tense 1-0 again, but that will do and would probably take us into the top half.

I feel that we're entering a bit of a hinterland where, unless the results are catastrophic or unbelievably good, nothing much will sort of happen. The pressure if off the manager to some extent following the last two results and further relieved by the awful injuries. We'll modge through until the WC, picking up a win or two, a couple of draws but some rather predictable defeats.

1-1

Are Leeds any good? Can't keep up with them these days

P6 W2 D2 L2 beat Chelsea and Wolves at home, Drew with So'ton and Everton one home and one away, and lost to Brighton and Brentford away. So about as unpredictable as they come but seemingly good at home.

If they win they're 5 points ahead of us with a game in hand.

what's likely line up with the injuries then? I'm guessing something like

                       martinez
      young   konsa   mings   swede
            mcginn   luiz  ramsey
            buendia            bailey
                        watkins

read somewhere that dendoncker was left out as he's not match fit so can't see him coming straight in.

I've lost faith in Gerrard and now Kamara is injured feel we'll go backwards.

Predict 2-0 loss.  Out fought and out thought.

As for the line up, no surprises:

                     Martinez
      Young   Konsa   Mings   Augustinsson
            Mcginn   Luiz  Ramsey
         Bailey    Watkins    Coutinho

Yep, with them winning at home, us losing away, having a nightmare with injuries and a rookie still in charge it's not likely to end well is it? 2-0 them i reckon. I won't pick a team as i've lost track of who's available and who's not.

It isn't going to be pretty. Gerrard will do everything to try to avoid a defeat - 3 matches unbeaten makes it harder to sack him. Unfortunately, while he is fighting for his job, I can't imagine any expansive attacking football.

I haven't seen Leeds play yet this season, most right-thinking folk try to limit that sort of thing to twice a year, but they're much higher in the league than I thought they would be. Regardless, they're one of those teams that we need to be taking 4+ points off a season if we're serious about getting into Europe.

A low-scoring draw - highlights package to last around 30 seconds. Gerrard to limp on for another week.
