Our squad isn't strong enough at the moment to cope with 3 competitions in this second half of the season without reinforcements. We're very light up front, imagine if Watkins gets injured! I think we have a great opportunity to get 4th spot, but doubt we have the strength in depth.

Yet another bit of evidence for how poor Gerrard was. Just look at his signings;

Chambers - told he can go.
Coutinho - sent away, told he can go.
Olsen - pretty sure he's on his way out.
Dendoncker - on his way out.
Digne - told he could go (though possibly redeemed himself after injury to Moreno)
Carlos - bad luck on his injury, but probably would have had Longlet's role this season had Mings not been injured.
Kamara - got sent off at Brentford, making Gerrard directly responsible for us not being top at Christmas and losing to a mid-table team at Old Trafford.  ::)

And Gerrard was only here a bloody year!

Our subs bench is going to have three goalies on it at this rate. Hopefully the kid from Boro can come in now because a small squad is now looking wafer thin.

Dendoncker is no great loss He comes in and fills a hole which a myriad of other players could do
I know we’re gonna get this, he never let us down and he did a job for us but for me he weakened the team every time he played
If he got through a game by playing it safe and steady without making a major ricket we all said he had a good game, No he didn’t he was nowhere near good enough for a top half Premier League side

He wasn’t the worst player we’ve ever had and I don’t think he did anything particular bad He was just not at the level we require now even for a backup player

If there is an option to buy for Napoli they won’t be taking us up on it, but that’s just my opinion

Dendoncker might do Ok with the slightly slower pace of Italian football.

I'd say he'll do well there. He was a solid if unspectacular back up for Kamara, but hopefully, his going allows a better player to come in and compete for that spot. I would not be that unhappy for Iroegbunan to get a tryout and for Dendoncker to be replaced in the summer.

I do hope there is a mandatory purchase though. I don't want yet another Guilbert / Sanson situation where we keep loaning out for partial wage coverage and then write him off on a free eventually.

According to Romano, there is no compulsory purchase.

The Donk has been adequate for us and payed very well V Newcastle last season. Tim Iroegbunam should be at least as good with the potential to be much better and that's something Emery has seen in training. One out, sold and one promoted with no drop off in standard is very good business.

As long as he's getting regular game time there's a chance someone will want him in the summer.

Heck has probably got an eye on one of those places as a GA++ offering.

£3,000 for all you can eat pick and mix and chips plus replace Calum Chambers on the bench.

Yep, he'll want game time himself and doesn't get much here, and hopefully he will do well and increase his value.
