Tim to step up or new option coming in?

Nice contract if you are happy playing the occasional 3 minutes

Why are we letting Dendoncker go without a replacement coming in first? I hope there's a deal imminent as this already weakens a thin squad.

I imagine we can’t bring players in without moving players out to stay within FFP.

They're not like for like but could this mean that the Middlesbrough lad is a done deal now too?

I'd imagine it's that in the season and a half he's been here he's only started 8 league games. We most likely want his wages gone, and a potential fee in, so as we can bring in someone we're likely to play more.

I understand the FFP concerns, but bloody hell we’re light here. Clearly Kamara is exceptional, and crucial, but we’d have little or nothing to cover him unless Unai thinks Tim is decent but he hasn’t give any real indication of that yet.

Step up Tim.  He needs the minutes to test whether he’s good enough (or, worst case fatten him up for sale).

Seems sensible to me, creates the space for Tim this season and/or a big name signing in the summer.

Fingers crossed Iroegbunam gets an opportunity. He is a player I rate highly, potential wise.

Emery sees big Tim as having much more potential to step in with some more work on the training ground. Definitely has more legs and energy about him than Donk.

Donk probably a decent option and bar the Stevenage game has been solid when called upon. The 4-0 Brentford game between Gerrard's sacking and Emery's appointment springs to mind.

But he is never an Emery player. Not mobile enough, not technical enough.

And the 3-1 Man Utd game, and the 3-0 Toon.

And even if he isn't quite there he'd be stepping in for someone who has played the equivalent of just over 4 games this season.
