Found the quotes. I suppose you could see a few interpretations in that. It's the "10 months" mention for me. Was he injured much last season? As I said, not exactly scathing, but the most specific I've heard Emery be about a player who isn't playing.

Quote
"I have had 10 months with him and I am always trying to find [how he can] be regular every day, every month, training, playing and getting his best performance, for some different circumstances he didn’t do it," Emery said of Dendoncker ahead of Villa's clash with Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday.
"Now, hopefully on Monday he will start to train again with the group, hopefully he is going to keep consistent for a long time because I think he can help us."

Sitting near the tunnel yesterday and when the players were warming up, and chatting as they do, I noticed Adama Traore start his routine. He greeted Bailey and Bertie then kept going along the line, looked Dendoncker in the eye and completely blanked him. Nothing from Dendoncker either.

Presumably there wasn't a particularly strong bond between them at Wolves!

I cannot say too much but when i saw them they were both chatting away like good friends in spanish. It was the Villa kids asking for autographs that Leo regulary blanks

Maybe they'd already said hello when I saw them then.

Do you still work for the club, Hookey?

Btw, were all the subs and coaches getting drenched  yesterday now that we can't afford a roof for the bench? "Fcukin tinpot mate, your club is shit".

I heard the dugouts having the roof removed had something to do with UEFA regulations.

Donk is the only player I've heard Emery say something even remotely negative about. Can't remember the exact wording but it was something about him needing to show that he can be consistent in his effort. I know Emery throws a lot of the same phrases around, so maybe he didn't mean anything by it, but I got the impression that he's maybe one of the few who hasn't fully bought into Emery's methods and just isn't that bothered about getting up to speed for this season.

His is the only UE signing that I don't really get. I don't see what he adds to the side. I wonder if the idea was for him to be an Ian Taylor type of player, of limited skills but will always give 100% and be a reliable water carrier. He doesn't seem to be that, though

I sometimes think that UEFA must have an internal 'who can come up with the biggest pile of wank this month' competition. Whoever came up with the idea of soppy great capacity-reducing advertising boards deserves such an award

Pretty sure Moreno was the only player Emery signed before the summer window. (Technically Durán but I think that was in progress)

Yes the Donck was a panic signing along with the defender from Southampton whose name I've already forgotten.

Yes i do - 37 years in total.

Dug out - the roof was removed to remodel the area so they can accomodate all the additional subs required for the Euro games. Individual seats on the back row were replaced with a long bench .We are under the impression that a new one is in development - which is sensible considering our weather
