Reminds me of John Cazale.

JC: 3 films - The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter.

LD: 3 starts - Brentford, Man Utd, Newcastle.*

*ignore Newcastle away.

Sorry to bump the thread. But where is he?? Not in the squad, not on the injured list?

I hope his baby isn't poorly and he needs time off.

Didn't his younger brother have to retire as a professional last week due to a previously unidentified heart condition? I'm putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 147 here, but I guess it's possible that if there is ANY element of genetic predisposition to that condition, he will be undergoing all manner of tests right now to rule it out?

It's equally possible he's simply on the verge of being sold.

Not thought of that  - let's hope not.

As does the heart reason too.

Looks off the pace every time he comes on these days, guessing we'll shift him in January if we can

Limited match time and he nearly made a Stevenage-type mistake that would have made it 3-2 and given a comfortable win a bit of a nerve-wracking last few minutes.

Iroegbunam was on the bench yesterday, he may well overtake Dendoncker next time Emery wants to shore up the midfield.

I liked the Donk last season but it's been cameos from hell this season after he skipped pre season too. If Iroegbunam was fit in August then I think Emery would have let the Donk go to Everton. He's incredibly uncomfortable playing on the half turn in midfield and that's a pre req for playing in our midfield.

Increasingly looking out of place in a possession based team where the centre mids need to be able to receive the ball in tight positions. Interesting that Ireogbunam is starting to feature in the squad, certainly brings more dynamism to that part if the squad.

Thought he had some good games last season, Man Utd and Newcastle at home in particular.

Donk is the only player I've heard Emery say something even remotely negative about. Can't remember the exact wording but it was something about him needing to show that he can be consistent in his effort. I know Emery throws a lot of the same phrases around, so maybe he didn't mean anything by it, but I got the impression that he's maybe one of the few who hasn't fully bought into Emery's methods and just isn't that bothered about getting up to speed for this season.

I remember the comments you're referring to. I think it was more a frustration that he didn't seem able to stay fit.
