His stepover for Coutinho's goal was a brilliant bit of play. As was the whole move.

Emi's last name is Stati? Who knew...
Imagine the dilemma of Buendia v Coots these days...

He's kitted his fam out in the shirts of his former clubs. There might be one missing...

Oh God, thanks for pointing that out.

See, it's not just the Guardian beta-male football analysts and Sky Sports News lads in high, ice-white trainers who are against us.

Yes, it's the entire universe. Which is quite a weird take from the universe, given we've been a painfully uninteresting football club to the neutral eye over the last four decades.

Coots looked amazing when he was on loan.

Then he was a shadow of the player.

Shame.

Still though, the excitement when we got him  8)

When did Emery bomb out Coutinho exactly? Stevenage was the end for a lot of Gerrard's squad filler but Coutinho stayed a bit longer from memory.

Aug 2023. Came on for a few mins in the 5-1 defeat at Newcastle, came on in the 4-0 v Everton, was subbed back off after 20 mins and was never seen again.

Yep, came on for a showboat in the sun in a comfortably won game, and still couldn’t make it to the end without breaking down. Shame. I’m sure Emery could have done special things with him if he was just a bit stronger.

That pre-season against Lazio perhaps?  at the Bescot,, he looked really good and then he came on against Everton like Percy says and looked really good, for a few minutes before pulling up and that was that.

When you think of the long running attempts to sign Joao Felix I'm certain Emery wanted to use Coutinho but he was just bost.
