There was no fluidity, pace or pressure. The game plan seemed rigid which meant Ramsey and McGinn didn't venture forward too often leaving huge gaps between our front 3. Bailey, Cash and Digne all kept launching hopeful balls into a hopeless Ings. If that's the way he's going to play then we need to get KD fit.

We missed Mings presence, leadership and strength. Giving the captaincy to McGinn makes no sense to me.

This is now his team. He's had pre-season and the new players he wanted. We need to see a dramatic change in the next 3-4 games. No excuses.

Couple of observations.
We’re still trying to send everything through the full backs when we attack and the midfielders drop in behind. Why not give the ball to the flipping midfielders?

What do I know but i still reckon our best midfield would involve Doug and Sanson, players who have their faults but at least know which way the opposition goal is. I will despair if Coutinho and McGinn start in the next match.

Out played or out thought, trying to find the difference is nit picking  to the extreme. We were well beaten by a newly promoted team despite spending millions and millions strengthening our team that had about £100M spent on it last season. This start and finish last season and one or two other decisions do not show up Steven Gerrard as totally competent. It is a pile of manure at the moment.

McGinn and Watkins "utterly sh*te"...what nonsense!
Both are decent players and certainly good enough for 11th position (under Smith) and who knows possibly higher if played to their strengths.
That said McGinn is no captain though!
We have a more than capable playing resource if managed correctly.

Really? Gerrard was 1 game away from the sack, having not had a pre-season, so the plan for you and a lot of posters was to give him pre-season, 2 thirds of the summer window and then sack him after a single game? And if we'd won yesterday but lost to Everton we do what, keep him? And if we beat Everton, still sack him anyway? It's genuinely mindblowing the thought process.

Bournemouth was a low in performance for the season, we all hope. The same for opinion on Villa matters too. We're gifs and memes away from being Twitter.
