The implied meaning of the phrase outplayed isn't your Stoke City circa Pulis tactics of shithousing on an industrial scale to get a result. It means sexy football. Chambers outside of the boot passes and the like.
Couple of observations. We’re still trying to send everything through the full backs when we attack and the midfielders drop in behind. Why not give the ball to the flipping midfielders? What do I know but i still reckon our best midfield would involve Doug and Sanson, players who have their faults but at least know which way the opposition goal is. I will despair if Coutinho and McGinn start in the next match.
But the push the full backs on as our only means of attack is Gerrards method and we have seen it come unstuck many times. This combined with the wider midfielders having to cover means we never seem to build pressure and it’s pretty easy to defend against and counter attack.

I am struggling to comprehend how the manager of smallest team in the league thought it was a good idea to keep lobbing in crosses against the tallest team in the league, without an ounce of success.
Waited to sleep on it before looking at Villa things on line.Still fuming.Gerrard out, bloke doesn't have a fucking clue.Midfield needs a dynamic 8 that covers ground and actually has a pass on him.Front line is waaay too static. Change formation to get the best from the squad before it is too late. Gone by end of November I reckon.I hate football.
