I don't expect much, but you'd think they'd be able to get dressed before kick off.

I think I have an idea of what a massive problem might be. We aren’t Aston Villa. We aren’t Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa. We are Steven Gerrards Ego’s Aston Villa.
Stripping Mings of the captaincy, dropping Minds and Watkins is all about showing who is boss.
I’ve said it before, Gerrard is another Sherwood.

This is a sickening, filthy result.

We didn't lay a glove on them.

Couthino  ....dear oh dear. Had one good season in his career and we are stuck with him for 4 years on 150k a week.
Is sanson really worse than the crap that turned up in our midfield today??

I had a feeling the pre match confidence was a bit overcooked, but by christ that was pathetic. We need at least one more top class midfielder and also another striker, as none of the three can be relied on (for cam its a bit too soon for him I fear)

Big pile of wank.  I don't think I've ever seen us have so much possession and do so little with it.  Yes, they parked the bus with a back five and two sitting midfielders, but to not create a single golden opportunity in 90 minutes is borderline criminal.

We just move the ball so slowly.  It's like the players don't know what they're going to do with it when it's on the way to them, so it takes that extra half a second to take the ball and move it on.  the very few times we moved it one-touch in the middle we at least got into dangerous areas.

I fully expect Gerrard to say things like "not good enough" "changes will be made" "if the players can't improve I'll get players who will".  The reality is, we just didn't look good enough today to beat a team that will likely be in a relegation battle all season.  Even if you take out the 'opening day' and 'very early goal' stuff, it's not good enough.
