I'm really disappointed with that performance I was expecting better than that we really need to improve because that's not acceptable.

Compare this to what we did to the newly promoted fulham in the covid season…

I would imagine Purslow might be having some uncomfortable conversations with the owners
Apologising for his vanity project you mean ?

AlwaysVilla makes a good point. Mings was stripped of the captaincy ostensibly so he could concentrate on his game. Yet he was dropped at the first opportunity, with Konsa levered in ahead of him despite not having had a good game for us in about a year, and despite that choice meaning we had two right-footed centre halves playing.

Suggests to me that Gerrard is full of shit, and removed the armband because he simply doesn't rate Mings.

In truth, my gut was telling me this exactly how it would pan out today.

We are not going to improve playing this system, it's flawed. It's not just flawed, it's wank.

I don't think all our players are shit Lee but there does seem to be a problem somewhere along the line...is it management..tactics. system....I honestly don't know. What I do know is we are not the sum of our parts.

Or he’s ‘cock-swinging’ showing how he’s the top banana and can make tough decisions.
 (ones that didn’t need making).

Pissed off with the result, no excuses. Let’s see how he shakes things up for Everton. They’re a truly poor side under Lampard and I’ll start to worry if we don’t beat them. Although the fact that I’m comparing us with Everton is probably worrying enough. But I think we’ll win.

Yep, utterly ridiculous to try and play like that team with the personnel available to us. They don't suit it.

Utter shite by the sounds of it. I guess I need to watch it though.

Having watched both games today we’re  probably on par with chances created. They move the ball quicker and with purpose and more importantly they were playing against Chelsea. We’re clueless against Bournemouth. If they watch the video of our game I know how i’d be setting up against us.  I’m not at all confident based on our performance/team and tactics today. Home advantage should help but I’m not sure it will.

I was surprised that Calum Chambers didn't start, especially as Konsa was picked ahead of him. I rate Chambers, he doesn't let the side down.

On the money I reckon. 👍🏼
But Gerrard’s ‘famed playing career’ will only buy him so much time. At some point, he’s got to start delivering all of this bullshit coming out of his mouth.

Chambers seems to put everything into his performance and is fully committed.
We could have done with that today and Konsa looked like he did last season.

This malaise in Villa's performances has been around for years. Same problems year in year out no matter who is appointed as Manager and amount of money spent......
