Was Konsa fit for all the pre season games? I didn’t think he was, so it was a real surprise to see him start today. The last half hour I watched he looked very poor, he wasn’t the only one, but he gave away stupid needless fouls and looked shaky.
I’ve said it before but for all Mings’ mistakes or lapses in concentration we look far better defensively with him playing.

So where do you suggest we look for the positivity from today to counter the negativity?

'Micah Richards' Player Pranks' is on Sky Max tonight if you're looking for "hilarious" japes to cheer you up.

Silly question.  If we spent time in the week practising defending corners did we do the one where we are down to ten men while a Villa defender is off the field having his jewellery removed?
This fucking annoys me. How many games do you have to play as a professional footballer before you know what the rules are. FFS. Ok maybe Digne may not have won the header, but it’s the amateur hour fuck ups that are annoying.
Can these players not think for themselves.

We are 2 players away from being a decent team. If what’s been written in the press is correct we are still looking for a midfielder and a forward. The game is won and lost in the middle of the pitch and we just aren’t good enough there. We don’t have that forward to score something out of nothing either. A big few weeks ahead.

Was that worse than at Watford on the opening day last season? Probably and by quite a long way.

No it wasn't. Box to box we were alright and better than them. Watford was abject in a very noticeable way. Like they'd been on the ale and were turning up to a stag do organised bubble football game. Watford is probably the worst performance since maybe Wigan away.

Maybe, but a different midfield would not have made any difference to the goals we conceded today. We look a soft touch.

Of course that can change but the unexpected nature of the performance and result today has knocked my confidence so it’s difficult to retain perspective.

Today is my birthday. You can always rely on Aston Villa to ruin a perfectly good day. Thanks a lot AVFC.

My birthday is usually on the 4th round of the FA cup, so I’m usually safe too.

And presumably Bournemouth don’t need any new players?
We have enough quality to beat anybody already but Bournemouth showed today the one thing we don’t have that will mean days like this are going to continue

I really hoped Gerrards winning mentality would finally knock our lack of fight out of us, but alas I am not seeing it at the moment\

As BE said, wankers 🤨
