Our manager has been completely out coached by their manager.

Our play is so very pedestrian. Just a bunch of blokes standing around waiting for things to happen

Stream came back just in time to see the unmarked player get their second. Terrible performance but I'm not surprised against a newly promoted side away on the first day.

Can't wait to hear what Gerrard says about this omnishambles.

Do we have a bad record against these? Didn't we do the double over them even in the relegation year?

Today means our record against them is W4 D1 L5

Edens is there watching this.

I bet he's going to be well chuffed.

Does Gerrard seriously think playing at this pedestrian pace is going to be successful?

Tony Gale reckons Gerrard and McAllister won't stand for this. Funny that, because they've been standing for it for fucking months now, and nothing has changed.

New season, same old shit. How many times do we say this on the opening day? New players, new owners, new managers, lots of money spent over the last few years but nothing ever seems to change.

Awful

No cohesion, no idea when attacking, defence was poor. Got what we deserved

14th place seems like an aspiration now.

Never came close. A very worrying performance. Results like this happen, especially on the first day of season. But performances like this don’t unless there is something very wrong with the set up. In 100 minutes (including stoppage time in both halves) Kamara had a shot fractionally wide, otherwise we never ever came close to scoring. Ings not good enough, neither is Watkins. McGinn is a bottom third PL standard player and he’s our captain. Ramsey is simply overrated. And Coutinho played very poorly as if he didn’t care.
Gerrard has some serious question marks over him.
