Excellent second half.

Bailey was sublime, so was Buendia. I would like also to see chambers paired with Carlos for the first game of the season. Sanson and KKH also did very well.

Let’s hope this will be the last we will see of playing both Watkins and Ings together.

It seems like a few of our players are undroppable, or they certainly were last season. Coutinho went through 9 or 10 games with minimal contribution but still started every game, while Buendia sat on the bench despite looking much more dangerous when he came on. Maybe that was just to convince him to sign?

McGinn I like but he went through a dodgy spell too.

Spare a thought for those of us watching on the MUTV stream, that was a difficult but made the last touch goal all the better.
I thought that was better then most of the sky coverage

Same.

I’ll give them praise for not mentioning the “ghost goal” bit that’s only because they forgot to.

I missed out Tim, who I also thought imposed himself.

Didn't watch the match. 1st half poor, 2nd half better by most accounts. It will be interesting to see how many of the team that finished the 2nd half start vs Bournemouth in a few weeks time.
Pre-season friendlies are supposed to be about trying new things (and of course building up fitness), so why play Watkins and Ings together with them having been involved in the entire pl season just gone? What is it that our management still needs to learn about this pairing?
Sg still hasn't managed a win against a team most would assume would finish in the top 8 ( ;)).
Still August is a fresh start not just for our players, but our management too.

This is the first of the pre-season games I've managed to watch, really impressed by Sanson, hope he finally gets a decent chance in the first team.
Has Kesler-Hayden played that well in other games this month? He seemed very assured, great to see another youth prospect coming through.

Funny when they were talking about our abysmal collapse against City, and they couldn't work out if was the lesser of two evils.

Delighted for Leon, if he finds the form, we know he's capable of then, it'll be like a new signing for us.

The squad is definitely better. No one’s guaranteed a place which can only be a good thing.

This is very tedious, just so you know. Overcoming the word filter hardly requires Alan Turing.

On seeing that we have a better squad than ManU. Picking the First 11 is going to be tricky. Keeping the squad happy is too.
There were some very promising performances from the players who came on - Bailey in particular, Buendia, Sanson, Kesler Hayden, also Luiz. I can't see how both Watkins and Ings can make the starting XI. Ramsey didn't do much apart from one good run and Kamara didn't impress. I was pleased to see Konsa back -  we seem to have 4 strong contenders for central defence. As you say Bren'd, picking the team for Bournemouth won't be easy.

Hopefully, although last season it seemed like some were.

It’s tedious that people have to bother. It’s hardly swearing.
