A blank crest is certainly a different way to go

Yep. A little underwhelming. No star though will be a win for some.

If we don't make Champions League, this whole reveal is going to be very underwhelming.

No it won't.

It'll be disappointing, yeah of course, but we're finishing at worst fifth, so Europa League at the absolute worst.

If the internet as it is now was around during Doug’s time with some of the badge monstrosities of that era there would be pitch forks on display at the gates of Villa Park. It’s important but really not THAT important.

Heck is clearly hoping and praying we cling on to 4th place. They'll then do a big release on the new Adidas kit, and the new shit badge will be on it, but everybody will be so happy about 4th and having Adidas as the kit manufacturer that they'll forget Heck has blatantly flouted FA rules, and just sort of accept it by stealth.

100%. As I said on the other thread, he is lucky things on the pitch are great as the two big things he is associated with, ditching the round crest for his MS paint effort and bottling the new North Stand would be so deflating to the fanbase if we were a mid-table side on top of all else

It’s only a shit badge for those who think it’s a shit badge and want to get angry about it. The majority won’t give a fuck as long as the team is winning.

Every badge that has been mooted as the actual new one is a shit badge to anyone and everyone with good taste.

Not sure about that.

It's perfectly possible to be happy with things on-pitch and genuinely think it's a shit badge (and, for clarity, cards on the table, i think it's hideous) without doing so because you just want to be angry.

You need to accept people will disagree with you, telling them they're just doing so because they want to be angry is a bit shit, really.

I’m not telling anyone how to feel. Nor am I asking anyone to agree with me. But for some it’s very black and white. The badge is shit. That’s fine if that’s how they want to feel. I happen to think most won’t really give it a lot of thought beyond its release.
