As they said on the excellent The Villa Podcast: “Imagine hearing the deathly silence at the Etihad at 5 to 6 and for once there’s an actual reason for it”.

I did enjoy that comment and I do enjoy that podcast.

Win, lose or draw the result in terms of who lifts the Premier League trophy is pretty unpalatable.

Guess there will be a helicopter with the silverware hovering in the Wigan area.

I really don’t like the Liverpool narrative so just for once I’m non plussed. This probably makes me a bad fan but at least I’m honest.

We'll be a goal up as we go into second half added time... and then Grealish will summon his inner Aguero.

Let’s hope his inner Aguero is in Argentina and has to catch a plane to get here.

I think they can safely tie the sky blue ribbons on it now.

15 mins gone , are playing well then then they score. We dig in and keep going but then on 60 mins they make it 2 and the sky wankfest starts. Ratboy comes on and on 70 mins nets. At that stage I kick the TV over have a row with the missus and head for the pub.  On the way to the pub I remember there might be some plastics in their so head to the offy instead. Get bladdered go home have another row about the cost of a new TV. Happy bloody Sunday.

They’ll score inside 10 minutes and that’ll be that.

I would love us to get three points to move up the table a bit but expect to lose by three.

OK I was hoping for a miracle but just been told that we are playing in dark blue  third kit today. So far we have 100% loss record in that kit. We are doomed.

It’s a cracking podcast. The Gary Neville slating metaphor of Matty Cash as a future pundit talking about his old super sub mate Buendia as Villa manager is absolute genius.

The oil bandits will be 5-0 up at half time, and will end up winning 6-0 after they take their foot off the gas in the second half and we huff and puff for 45 mins.

No chance and Sky wankfest all over after 15 mins when they 2-0 up. 4-0 overall and the end of a particularly pants season. Then a nice visit to the Freeman's in Newcastle next week to see if I manage to see next season in full. Hey ho, it's all fun 🙄

I hope the social media gang who ‘want Jack to win it’ haven’t got tickets. The thought of Villa fans staying to applaud him with his shiny bauble turns the stomach.
