Genuine question.  What's the difference between the gasometers in Nechells and those at the Oval cricket ground in London which are Grade 11 listed buildings?  Those in London are approx thirty years older which, in the overall scheme of things is nothing.

Good question. The ones at the Oval look the same just a different colour. Maybe there's an influential blue nose on BCC who's getting them taken down just because he can.

There's also the ones near St Pancras where they built the flats within them.  Didn't someone say it was going to be student flats?

The old GasWorks building in Dublin, converted to residential apartments, not far from Lansdowne Road  (Aviva stadium)

I like those. Much more imaginative than just wrecking everything.

True but this is Birmingham City Council we're talking about

Do they go up and down, depending on the weather and time of day? If they don't, pah, they're just round buildings built on the site of something that was round anyway, and then had some steel put round them. Borrrriiiing.

More to do with National Grid than BCC.
