We were seven points from safety with four to play a couple of years back and stayed up. Seemingly doomed teams can survive. Personally I think we'll win at least one of the next three and that will be that.
I see the next 3 as a great opportunity. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, there seems something proper about it all. I understand the concerns, I think they're exaggerated and far too much time is spent dwelling on fear than on opportunity. The season has been annoyingly frustrating nonetheless.
Another scenario tomorrow: We lose at Leicester, which is quite likely and Burnley beat Wolves, then the gap is only 5 points with Villa to play Burnley twice. It doesn't take much for a points cushion to evaporate rapidly.

I think we are safe but, bloody hell, being 15th and fretting about other teams results is a terrible indictment of Gerrard’s performance so far. Gerrard alone?

No it wouldn't.

Then reality (or something) struck and it appears I've swapped places with Risso! :-)This is the first season in a few where we've potentially gone backwards, and I don't like it. We have the ability to beat anyone, that's the disappointing thing.

Personally I think we'll win at least one of the next three and that will be that.It was four points from safety with 4 games left. And we didn't reel in anybody sat 8 points above the drop zone who also had a game in hand. The 4 teams in the last 4 places with 6 games left were the teams who finished in the bottom 4 at the end of the season, we just did enough to turn around a one point deficit to Watford who helpfully sacked their manager, to finish a point above them.
Regardless of this mini revival it will be Burnley going down not Everton.
It might be for you, but I strongly susect not for a lot of people. Who on earth has been "banished" as well?
