So cautious not enough attacking threat yet again no shot on target. Very disappointing.  I imagine we'll have a better second half but it's getting predictable the lack of goal threat and shots at goal at times looks ordinary . Gerrard style of play relying on Cash as the outlet as attacking full back needs an upgrade there.
Coutinho needs to be taking set pieces
Callum Chambers liability if
Buendia misplaced passes all the time

Not sure this system lends itself to the PL.

Me neither, unless you have real target man up front to whom every hopeful punt sticks. Neither Watkins or Ings is that player.

Not sure how we should line up with the fit personnel we have though. Maybe with Marv out we simply have to have all three of McGinn, Luiz and Sanson in midfield for the solidity.

Too many players aren’t good enough. McGinn, Luiz, Watkins the main culprits.
None of which should have started today after Wednesday’s shit show. Ollie doesn’t even remotely look capable of getting on the end of or showing for anything, let alone scoring.
If I were Ings or Sanson I’d be mightily pissed off right now.

Gerrard's got a big summer ahead of him. Lots of work to do to transform this lot.

Not very good at all that. We should be swarming all over them in central areas.

Would get Ings on as Ollie again poor.
Can't see that making any difference.

Think Ings might offer better runs today.

Our main tactic so far seems to be getting the ball out to Cash who just loses it or takes extra touch.

You can see Newcastle getting another early on second half and that will pretty much season over as we aren't catching likes of Wolves if they win today.

Watkins, McGinn, Luiz have been fucking atrocious.
Watkins is doing his usual Agbonlahor impression when things aren't going his way.

Why are our lot constantly getting in each other’s way or crowding each other out?
That seems to becoming a thing with us.

One of the criticisms aimed at the Manager was that he had no plan B. He needs a fucker now.
Absolutely.  The ability to change the formation and use your subs.   Let’s see what he does to earn the label of being a manager.

As a Villa fan I'm pissed off its on the manager that half
However I think we'll be a different side second half and more of this style of Aston Villa that Gerrard trying to sell us.
I mean the guy talks a good game but it's a very boring with his approach a lot of time for me as its utterly predictable how he wants to play.
